In March you call the timeout. In January with a new team, you find out what your team is made of and how they are going to respond.

This isn’t our first year with Bruce. We’ve seen his resistance to timeouts, even in March. It’s a known fact about him.

Malzahn defender and Pearl critic. That’s not a club I’ll join.

At least I see the low levels of knowledge and maturity I’m dealing with now

Rig, what section were you in? We started out in L and then chose better seats because so many were empty.

It gives me great joy to see the Alabama board talking about how to stop the influx of AU fans that they experienced last night

Sure, he does well keeping people fresh. Still. He has an opinion on timeouts that I don’t agree with. It was only a TV timeout that stopped the bleeding last night. That cannot happen.

Bruce isn’t a horrible game day coach but it doesn’t need to be defended either

What makes a good "game day" coach? I think that's a loaded question. Clock management is only one facet of game day coaching - so is player rotations, shot/play development, and so on. But Bruce consistently wins even when his teams have had lesser talent or get way down in the hole, and I think both of those show that hes a very good game day coach.

Some great points. Obviously keeping players fresh is a byproduct of successfully recruiting a quality two deep.

I disagree here. He consistently wins when he has the roster that he wants. His years here with leanest talent have been his worst by far and the difference between winning and losing seasons.

About this whole Jang Malzahn defender thing.

He on record… wants the players to work through vs calling a TO. If they hit another 3 I believe he would have.

That guy can stay on the Gus bus as long as he wants. The Bruce Caboose is where I’ll be.

Bruce likes his guys to push through rough patches instead of calling timeouts. Nothing new about it. It’s a philosophy not everyone is going to agree with, likely most. No sense is killing everyone’s buzz arguing over it.

Bruce is an incredible gameday coach. You disagree with him on timeout usage.. that’s fine. That’s just a style thing, though. Bruce prefers to call a new set or get a certain player a touch on the fly rather than wasting a timeout that could later be used strategically late in the game when he knows he has a TV timeout coming every 4 minutes anyways.

All we are missing is someone to show up on time to point out I don’t have an Auburn team icon.

Pearl hardly ever runs out of timeouts.

Holding timeouts over 4 minute stretches is dangerous af.

And stop telling me it’s fine that I disagree about the timeouts usage.

The board has determined you can’t disagree without being a Pearl Hater and a Malzahn lover.
