What’s funny is some like to label Bruce as a recruiter only and a poor in game coach, but it’s likely just because of the freedom he gives his guys. He’s definitely an excellent X’s and O’s coach.

On offense we still have a few rotations that struggle to produce. If those get dialed in then this team is going to be absolute hell to defend.

Just letting the players play is what Bruce does. He didn’t even call a timeout when we were up by 14 and we let them go on a 14 point run. That’s not game management. I used to be bothered by that but not anymore. It’s who he is.

Still, don’t care to hear anybody say he does a good job of game management.

It's always tough when you have to both beat your opponent and overcome inconsistent officiating

Heck of a win boys! Let's get ready for Oxford!

Don't want to put the cart before the horse but we have a fair crack at a number 1 ranking if we beat Ole Miss the weekend with Baylor falling.

That picture has to be photoshopped. KD is a bad egg/cancer in the locker room, remember?

There's nothing to be miserable about this morning, so he's not here.

Was that the rumor about him when he transferred?

No easy games in the SEC these days, especially on the road - AU better be ready for their road trip to Oxford - this team has a target on their backs now for every conference game....

he’s an excellent game manager the way he rotates his players to keep them fresh, the way he plays baseline out unders both offensively and defensively, the way he changes defenses out of a time out, and the way he recognizes sets that give defenses problems.

He’s extremely underrated as a coach and often dismissed as mostly a recruiter. Very far from reality.

Sure, he does well keeping people fresh. Still. He has an opinion on timeouts that I don’t agree with. It was only a TV timeout that stopped the bleeding last night. That cannot happen.

Bruce isn’t a horrible game day coach but it doesn’t need to be defended either.

In March you call the timeout. In January with a new team, you find out what your team is made of and how they are going to respond.

Pearl is at least as good of an in-game coach as he is recruiter… pearls strength in recruiting is identifying talent early before they blow up and cultivating that relationship.

To your point, having a heavy rotation and keeping everyone happy is a huge credit to pearl… not many coaches in American can do it (or want to do it).
