I like Cambridge. Everyone else on the team get more hype but he's still gets a solid amount of playing time.

An LSU 247 reporter actually made a really good point about this Auburn team.

quote:

if things break down on defense Walker Kessler can fix. if things break down on offense Jabari Smith can fix it. No other team in college basketball has that

Like Cambridge this year cause he is finally knocking down some threes. He’s always been explosive

That’s a really good point. Hopefully our other guys can take some of the load off of them during the stretch the run so they can bail us out when it really counts. It’s nice that we have a few solid late shot clock options on O.

If you look at it...WE ARE STACKED.

Size.
Athleticism.
Depth.
Shooting.
Scoring.
Defending.
Shot Blocking.
Experience.
Coaching.
Pros.

We play within a system, but have several guys who can get their own shot.
And every night we can legit comfortably play:

Jabari, Kessler, Flan, KD, Wen, Zep, Cambridge, Moore, Williams, Bierman, Cardwell, and even Stretch.

I'll nit pick and say I would like to see our FT % higher. Just watched Wisconsin ice Purdue at home It was an awesome game and Wisky's entire front court fouled out with minutes to play.

When you have to hit a free throw, you gotta hit a free throw.

But if just keep blowing folks up I guess it won't matter. Those away games tho..

Definitely need to improve team FT percentage and rebounding. On ball defense could be better at times. Shot selection on offense. Fast breaks without our PGs need improvement we turn it over a lot without the PGs involved.

As far as in the context of icing games I’m not as worried about it. Wendell will bring us home most often and he will sink em.

Cambridge seems to be a streak shooter. His 3 point % is good at 32% which is where you want it.

But it does seem like he either makes three in a row or misses them in streaks as well.

But I will take three point shooting at 32% all day long.

I believe this is something we just have to live with under Bruce Pearl. It feels like he says to the guys if you give maximum effort on D I can live with a few bad shots per player every game.

Anyone else a bit concerned/interested to see how we play on the road at SC? They’re not awful this year right? I see they have a win against FSU.

It’d be really encouraging if we play a good game away from The Pearl

Yep, we seem to struggle there historically.

Iirc… Auburn was the first road team to win in their arena…. But also McLemore broke his femur there… so who knows.

First conference road game for a young team. Just another step the team needs to make to prove their worth. Excited to see the game and watch this team grow.

it’s acceptable, but a bit below where you would want it or what is considered good.

Let’s never discuss this again. That’s when our season went off the rails. :(

Absolutely have to get better. So many tournament games come down to FT shooting.

Really hope we see Jabari attacking the paint some this evening.

Some of you guys just love speaking bad juju into existence. A focused AU team, on a mission, is going to break USC tonight. And if any obstacle gets in our way, we're going to overcome it.

he’s averaging 3.5 free throws attempts per game. I think he could get that to 6+ easily if he attacked the rim more and didn’t settle for so many contested jumpers.
