To be fair, game threads are all about camaraderie and are best suited for ripping hot takes, underanalaysis, and caps lock anything

Ivey has said vaccine mandates are a no go in the state of Alabama, as far as I understand.

Are we about to find ourselves jeopardizing state funding?

I'd love to have Auburn and Alabama openly defy the mandate. But unless it works, it's no win for either. Auburn losing federal funding would be awful for Alabama (in the near term). Auburn losing state funding would too, and Alabama making Auburn choose would lead to one or the other.

It's pretty easy for us to say Auburn should call Biden's bluff, and they probably should. But if you're the leader making the call you've got tens of thousands of people - most of whom probably don't see the fight as you do - riding on that decision.

I don't envy Auburn. I also don't know why Auburn is getting so much attention for something that is going on at every major public U

then you have these yahoo self-annointed reporters who know what's best, and continue to treat Harsin as some anti-Christ..

guess who won't stop....(and I bet you guessed right first time). :)

What a piece of shite "journalist".

I will tell you this, Harsin has more integrity in his pinkie than this guy has at all. He is baiting Harsin to go public and trying to mount pressure upon the University to push Harsin to be more open. Frick this guy.

I don't understand how these self-loathing types get into sports at all

Merit, physical brutality, competition, etc. all run completely counter to their worldview.

This says it all. AL.com has always been about attacking Auburn and throwing kisses and sunshine at Alabama.

All I know is that I’ve been perfectly fine after the dozens of vaccines that have been mandatory since I was 5 and I’ve got family dead from COVID. That’s literally the extent of my philosophical involvement with vaccines. Good enough for me.

Harsin can do whatever but I’d bet he’s vaccinated, just like whoever your favorite news pundit is.

The emotional response to this stuff is puzzling.

Only if your head is so far in the sand you can't see what is really going on.

I actually think the opposite and that the response is extremely muted compared to what it should be.

I can see the sincerity in the nature of your post. It is possible to be sincerely wrong.

You guys are all spending way too much energy trying to convince someone of your point where the reality is that no one really gives a shite what your opinion is and won’t change their opinion regardless of what you say. Save that energy to go do some good for this world. Life is too short.

Agreed. But it is a message board. I am aware that in five years everyone will basically be vaccinated and this will be in the rear view mirror.

Well damn, close down the message boards. It has been decreed that we shouldn't express opinions or thoughts on message boards we sign up to come share opinions, thoughts on.

I don't think anyone has the delusion that they are changing lives by what they post here, but it is a place we have all chosen to come to sharing posts.

It can often get testy and sometimes personal, but hell at the end of the day I can go and have a laugh and a drink with any of you except maybe Brannigan.

But let's face it, when a subject touches things that people care about Family, University, Citizenship, etc. it can bring a diversity of perspectives and can be a vigorous exchange.

Just as long as we don't lose our humanity in the process.

Not really trying to argue but I'll go along and let you play Devil's Advocate.

You honestly think the last year and a half has been all about safety and the government hasn't used this to increase their power and control over most aspects of our lives?

well if all of these measures were for our safety and protection they couldn’t have failed much more miserably than they did when comparing locales of varying degrees of government interventionism and how minute the differences in results really were
