Man on local radio they are not even talking about this game. They are already talking LSU/UA. Been very quiet about this game. That being said, I think CGM has to mix in Joey more and work the perimeter.

P.S. Kam Martin up the middle for a loss of two will be said a good bit.

P.S.S. Nix overthrows Williams/Canella/Swartz will be said also.

38-13 LSU

Stiff dew is in the forecast. That could help our defense against their passing game.

I won’t be there, so I hope for driving winds and torrential rain-fall.

Have you watched them this year? They don’t have a run game.

I think we lose this one around 45-21, unfortunately.

Yep, I've watched them. Their run game is anemic, and will look even worse than they have, against our front 7. Steele knows, just like everybody else, that they will be throwing most downs. Face it, we have a very good defense and a very good, experienced DC. He'll have a plan to get a lot of pressure on Burrito. State gave them fits last week and we all know we are a LOT better than State. Double teaming Brown or Davidson is going to put a ton of pressure on anybody left to stop the others from getting to the QB. I just don't think we will see a lot of long yardage pass attempts. They will try to dink and doink us to negate the pass rush.

Big plays are always great but a key to winning this one will be a couple of long, sustained, punishing touchdown drives. 12 play 4.5 minute type drives to wear down their D and give our defense a blow.

Kinda, but their RB is really good. Definitely capable of housing it if you miss a tackle in space like we did in the UF game against a lesser back. And as much as they go five wide our LB's will have to make tackles in space. I'm also pretty concerned about our LB's in pass coverage, particularly Britt.

Gonna need Gatewood, no need for Nix in their on 3rd and short, also inside the 5.

Would like to see DJ, Worm, and Joiner(pipe dream I know) only.

D needs to play good. Not perfect but good.

If Gus will be aggressive Gus I can see it 31-27 Auburn

If Gus becomes shell of himself still, it will be ugly as the D will get tired quick, LSU 42-15(all FG's)

I think this is what hurts us. If we are having bring a fifth or sixth man on a blitz consistently to create pressure then Burrow will pick us apart on the short stuff.

Justin Ferguson
@JFergusonAU
Auburn HC Gus Malzahn said OT Bailey Sharp could return to practice this week.

He has been out with a knee injury since his first career start against Kent State. The Tigers could really use him for depth.

Frick LSU, I believe in this team. Our defense is nasty. We aren’t perfect and we nit pick because we are fans, but teams don’t run us, we tackle incredibly well, and Davidson and Brown can get pressure anybody on any play. This will be the best defense LSU has played.

I just watched the LSU vs MSU game. They can be beaten. Schrader looked good in the game and they got pressure on Burrow and held them to field goals. We follow that same plan, and don’t give up big plays, we can win. Nix has to play much better than he did against UF, but if he keeps his composure I think we pull it out.

AU 31- LSU 24

Everything about this matchup screams for LSU to win. However, this season and this game feels like it could be one of those wild finishes we've seen in the series with AU miraculously pulling out the W.

I agree with this. This comes down to feeling like we're simply due for a win. Also, we're not at all a bad team. In many recent years we've just seemed across the board "mediocre" when it came time to play in games of this magnitude (at least within the conference), and I feel a little bit better than that this season.

In other words, I don't think it would take a miraculous, super human effort to put on a performance that could beat any team in the country. It would take a normal/very good outing by our very good defense, a great outing by our offense/young QB and a well-called game by Gus. But that's not necessarily pipedream stuff, IMO.

Please let us win just so I can see the melt. They have a thread on Tiger Rant talking about the playoffs with this in it:

. I’m telling you, this will be a melt of epic proportions if we can pull it off. The only thing on their minds is Bama and the playoff.
