Anthony Schwartz waived by the Browns yesterday. Totaled just 186 yards over 2 seasons with the team.

I never understood him leaving early. He was a track star still learning the game. His route running really needed some work.

I clicked through and watched for a bit. We beat a team with Mac Jones throwing to Waddle, Jeudy, Ruggs, and Davonta Smith. Incredible.

ETA- had forgotten what a good game Boobie Whitlow had that game

Football was his passion sport. He made some fun, exciting plays and I’ll remember him fondly for his time playing football at Auburn. But I always thought that the smart move for him personally would’ve been to quit football and focus on getting to the Olympics in track. If he would’ve become a medalist then he would’ve done better in endorsements over the long run than whatever he made in the NFL

He was never a natural pass catcher.

Also… being an elite Olympic level sprinter is hard as frick… way harder than being a competent NFL WR imo.

Didn't he talk a lot of bad shite about AU when he left?

He was one of the top sprinters in the world at his age coming out of high school. I’d say his chances of making the Olympics were better than having a lasting and/or impactful NFL career. When he signed with us in 2018 a lot of people seemed to think it was a given that he would end up missing time to focus on making/ competing in the 2020 Olympics, bc at the time he seemed like an obvious shoe-in

We traded Iggy to Dallas today.

Not surprised, needed to get something in return for him or else he was likely to just not be brought back after this season. Hate it never panned out. Seems to always be in position to make a play and winds up beat.

Hoping the change of scenery is of benefit for him.

I'll always have the Steelers win to look back on lol.

Was hoping he would work out as well but figured his time was coming up.

Bro needs a new start. Miami and him just didn't gel. For the life of me I couldn't figure out why they didn't try him at nickel or safety.

Surprisingly enough shed Jackson made it all the way to the last cut. He's a good candidate for the practice squad which is better than I thought he'd be at This point. He has a legit shot at making the NFL as a special teams contributor.

Depends on your motivation. If you don’t get to the top end in the Olympics then you don’t make jack shite.

Meanwhile going pro guaranteed him nearly a million dollars without doing anything. In total he had a 4 year $4+ million contract. Don’t know how much he got but safe to assume he got at least $2 mill out of it.

So financially, the NFL decision is an absolute no brainer.

Agreed. Unless you’re Michael Phelps type…. Do you even get endorsements? Who were the best 3 US sprinters last Olympics?!?

Eku Leota made it pretty far but was part of the Panthers final cuts.

He was, however, immediately signed to the Panthers practice squad.
