It's still worth it to me. My buddy had to leave because his GF couldn't handle it anymore. He was pissed.

I do the same thing with bow hunting down south. No hunting until the first freeze.
It was miserable Saturday. But, we will be there again this weekend.

In my college football pool I am in, the organizer picked the AU/Ark State as one of the games and the line is AU -13.5. I really want to believe after last week, the team makes serious strides and AU wins by 2 TDs.
However thinking of taking Ark State. That way I am happy regardless.

This is the philosophy I take. Makes it a win-win... or a lose-lose depending on if you're a posiplainsman or a negabarner.

I am posiplainsman and would much rather my team win, than do well in my pool. But nothing would suck worse than taking AU and then AU loses the game = loses pool, loses game, and gives up on humanity.

Now that people have had time to go back re-watch the game and reflect on what we saw the first week as well as watch the ASU game, what does everyone think about this weekend?
I am nervous, but cautiously optimistic. I really believe the team will make a lot of adjustments and will pound the ball running. Ark State appears one dimensional. I hope the weather conditions are better at JHS and it won't suck the energy out of the fans like it did last week.
Does AU win this by 2 TDs?

quote:I don't think so. stAte is probably a better overall team than WSU. And we need to remember that their players (and thus their coaches) are very familiar with Gus' plays and gameday calls. I think it'll be a close one.

By 10+ imo. I think we make a big leap forward on offense this week. Defense will be improved.

Yes. I was impressed by our sescond half defensive adjustments.
I know that our run defense was bad last season but that was last season. This is this season. Arky st runs a ton and we should be able to stop them.
Our offense left about 10 points on the firled Saturday and if we execute better, we should score in the 30-40 range. A hold cost AU 4 points, a missed fg 3, two overthrown passes 14.
We could have crushed WSU.
AU 31-10

Say what you will, but I live 8 hours away and usually only get to one home game a year. (Was 10 hours away until I recently moved.)
So I'm going to make it a good one.
If I lived only an hour or two away, it'd be a different story.

And Gus knows thiers. The ASU coach even stated that he kept some of the same terminology that Gus used.
