RB slipped out at least twice and burned us... also the inside slot guy was wide open on the vertical route (probably their longest play of the game).

I saw our DEs following the backs in the second half much better and that long pass was only 1 of 2 times they had a play go for more than 15 yards.

I did not see Daniel get on the field Saturday. Do we possibly think he could redshirt? I had heard the coaches talk like he would be getting a lot of snaps this year.

He played 3 or so snaps ergo no redshirt for him unless he gets injured

Here are ASU's highlights from Saturday.

Arkansas Pine Bluff's dline is slow and weak. They made our DLine last year look like NFL Pro Bowlers.

I am a lot less worried after watching that then I was after reading their stat line

APBU also had several players suspended the night before the game... they were a glorified high school team.

pine bluff plays in the same conference as Alabama A&M, a team we beat by 50 last year... and that was the worst Auburn team in our lifetimes. I don't see how anything could be gained from that beatdown.

I don't believe they expect Ford to make it for the game Saturday but I do believe we will see Garrett although in a limited manner.

He was dressed out and on the side lines Saturday. Sounds like he was not completely out then.

As long as Therezie plays well, we may not see him..

I've talked to guys that have played at UAPB and they are not very good. Bottom of the barrel/have nowhere else to go play

Anyone think the main reason for the limited play calling on offense and not opening it up for NM wasn't because they want to ease him in, but because they don't want MS State to have good film on him? If that's the case do we see only a slight improvement from last weekend until the grinders come to town and they really let him run the offense.

No. Doing that could have cost them the game.

Looks like it was literally a game time decision not to play him on Saturday.

I would really like to get Ford back for the MSU game.

Speaking of MSU, Tyler Russell is out for this weekend's game. I wonder if he will miss the AU game too.

We won Wash St by 7. I think you are right to say that we didn't play full speed full playbook because Marshall couldn't handle it or Gus didn't want to test that out.

I could se the "We didn't want to expose the playbook to being on other team's film" argument if we won by 30, but we barely edged out a win Saturday. If Therezie doesn't intercept that ball, we are tied and having trouble scoring

Dee Ford and Garrett practiced monday night. Tate said Malzahn sounded optimistic they would play Saturday.

Said offensive execution was below average.

From Ellis Johnson -

"(Therezie is) the better cover guy of the two; Justin's the better blitzer, a little bit better in run support, but probably just about the same in zone coverage," Johnson said. "(Considering) the high percentage of man to man we played, I probably could have seen Robenson play more whether Justin was healthy or not."

I think we'll see Garrett in more on running downs and Therezie on passing. I'd be surprised if Ford played unless he is absolutely 100%. No need in playing him now when we'll need him more in two weeks against Miss St.

And RG was not happy with Carl Lawson on a few plays. Did anyone else see him tell Lawson to go get on the bench.

I saw this. It looked like he said "go figure it out." He gave him a disappointed-dad look as Lawson walked away.

From the Quick hits:

** Trovon Reed graded out as high as anybody, Malzahn said, and will likely get more snaps in Week 2.

I don't recall TR playing much, if any. I may have missed it, but there are no stats on him. Anybody?

Didn't have a ball thrown to him, but has gotten lots of praise for his blocking.

If by plug up the middle you mean bull rush the guard + tackle into the QB's lap then yes.. isn't it obvious he'll be the best in everything along our dline?
