That seems like a generous jump.

Pumping our ranking for LSU and Bama’s strength of schedule.

Yep, way too high. Yesterday really highlighted how much trouble we’re in unless something borderline magical happens with our run offense.

Seemingly high for a team that’ll likely finish unranked

Who is the most inappropriately ranked, us or Michigan?

Definitely Michigan. Lucky or not we still beat Oregon somehow and they’re probably going to win the PAC 12 if not come in 2nd. We also covered the spread yesterday.

It’s extremely on brand for Auburn to be ranked top 10 in the first three weeks of a season only to finish unranked

Groundhog Day. Makes me want to vomit. At least basketball is fun now.

Actually that hasn't happened nearly as often in recent years as I thought - last season was only the 3rd time in recent memory, the others being 1985 and 2008. #themoreyouknow

That can’t be correct, feels like it happens almost every year . They were top 10 to start 2015 and finished 7-6. Did they really finish ranked at 7-6?

Surprised 2014 Auburn stayed ranked too.

#18 would be more appropriate for the way we play.

I may have misread your post, but I thought you meant "top 10 three weeks into the season", not "top 10 at any point in the first 3 weeks". In that case, yeah, it happened a lot

For example, we've been ranked in the top 10 preseason only to get embarrassed in our first or second and end up unranked (2015 being the most recent example - we even dropped out of the top 10 after a win).

But in each of the three seasons I cited, we were undefeated and ranked in the top 10 after week 3 and still finished out of the top 25 (in 1985 we were #7 after week 10 for chrissakes)

Were overreacting. We have a great team, just a shitty HC that never prepares for non power 5 teams.

It was nice when expectations were real low for Auburn. Gave us hope. Now we stare in the face of a 7-5 season and Bham bowl.

We were #10 and won. Texas lost and were forced to drop. We are better than Meechegan who deservedly dropped a few spots. I don't know enough about UF or Utah to know whether they should have jumped us.

People say the SEC is down, but look at the top 15. I do think the bottom half of the league is down, but it's still damn strong at the top half.

We are trending like we have in most years under Malzahn. Good enough to start the year in the top 25, win a ranked good non conf game matchup, beat up some midlevel non conf teams before the first SEC game and find our way into the top 10. Then....

we blow our first SEC game, and we start to slowly slide back down the top 25. By the end of the regular season we are out of the top 25 finish about midway in the Western Conf and play a lesser bowl...

Sound familiar? :)
