I was there until late 3rd. I dont even know. IMG was huge on both lines. That LT committed to USC looked like he was NFL ready.

Watched the first 3 quarters. IMG dominated them up front.

Im not sure which IMG team that was but you are right, they had some big guys.

Anyone know much about Westside-Anderson from South Carolina?

They travelled to Vestavia for an out of state matchup only to get smacked 49-7.

Top 3 in Carolina 4A, but Carolina HS football is probably a way different beast than Alabama HS ball and I imagine that’s about equivalent to Alabama 5A.

So Vestavia, a strong 7A team in a loaded division, mud-stomping them doesn’t come off as too surprising.

What does such a loss do to the away team?

I can see an upside.

Don’t know what they’ll take from it. They were quite clearly overmatched from the get-go.

There may be a benefit to the idea that “the worst is now behind us” lol. Sometimes good teams for their level react well to a little humility.

Was there a special payment like in CFB?

I could see the benefit of traveling to a wealthy program like Vestavia to get a nice cut from the booth and a donation.

Moody has a brutal schedule. Gainesville Ga, Oxford, Helena, Auburn are the out region games

Oxford traveling to Moody next, right?

Oxford lost their jamboree with 7A Oak Mountain and lost a close game last night to Central Carrollton GA. Kept it close with 2 bigger schools so far, but Oxford is young at QB and in the secondary. Defense has struggled defending the pass.

More wondering about affects on their standing back home... the pros/cons they used.. what's their metric?

Prestige, will it hurt their rankings, jut getting a taste of better talent.... or such.

Big school in my day was 4A and 1970's. High School sports today is alien to me.

6A was the top of the mountain in AHSAA when I played but we very much were getting close to needing another class back then. The top of 6A was good but we still had some *bad* regional matchups against other teams that were 6A that really weren’t capable of competing at that level. Woodlawn sticks out.

If they lost to OM, they must be terrible.

They’re a class down from OM and it was a jamboree. I wouldn’t read too much into it.

They won the region last year and that was a region that included Clay-Chalkville. Remains to be seen if they see that same kind of success this year.

Vestavia walloped Auburn 42-14 last night. Auburn was a pretty big favorite and Vestavia had some injuries.

Big surprise in 7A making for an interesting start to region play next week.

didn't see vh as a title contender and doing that to Auburn is wild

Vestavia might be really really good this year.

I went to the Hvr/SP game last night. SP QB doesn't look like a D1 QB.

Was there. Brock had maybe his worst game in the last few years. Don’t know what Coach V was thinking. So conservative on offense. They never play like that.

Kickoff Classic Games to kick off AHSAA TV Network Games of the Week
on August 7, 2025
by David Holtsford

Alabama Public Television joins AHSAA GOW Network to give complete Statewide Coverage

MONTGOMERY – Alabama Public Television (APT) and the AHSAA Network will be joining forces this Fall – giving the AHSAA its largest Game-of-the-Week TV coverage ever.

... and it was professionally shot, in step replayed, and better announced than some college games. HS sports has come a long way baby.
