Full context would be nice. The comment I made received 12 upvotes to 1 downvote.
Here’s my full quote that Lanier is pulling from:
“If he goes to Gus Malzahn then that tells me all we need to know about the Nix family. They’re not in it to win.
I’m sure they’re good people, but this is mentally weak if they follow Gus.“

I never hated on Bo, I wanted the kid to be successful. I related to his life-long Auburn fandom.
I hope he finds what he's looking for somewhere outside the SEC. Sadly, I think his Auburn legacy will forever be tainted. He'll be seen as a quitter and I can't really see him being "welcomed" back to the Plains as an alumnus. Maybe Auburn fans will be more magnanimous, but there was enough dislike of him when he was the starter among some fans, that if the rest join the chorus after he quits, there'll be no welcome back.
If he plays somewhere else in the SEC, he better love that place, because that will be his forever home. He won't be seen as a quitter, he'll be forever seen as a traitor.
I know he's a grad transfer and not a "transfer portal" guy, but I'm overall sad to watch a sport I've loved for over 40 years, deteriorate into the NFL-light.
I'm not hitting the panic button on Harsin. I still believe we've gotta ride with him for 2-3 years, and see if he can build it.
Yes I agree 100%. I really hate to see him go. He is different than a lot of players here. He is a legacy, he was a lifelong fan. I think he was always looked at as the 'coaches son" because of his dad. I dont like the idea of him leaving for anywhere. Its just the mentality of today
I said it before and I remain by it, I dont think Bo has NFL talent and I do not think he will ever play in the NFL and be effective. He just does not have that kind of talent. Its not coaching or his injury. Its just the fact that only a few people who play ever are good enough to be a effective NFL Qb. He is not one of them. Same thing I said about Stidham. Bo is a college QB at best and I think he could have done better than he did but he was never going to be a pocket passer overall.
I agree that he will probably never be welcomed at Auburn and I really cant blame the fans and allums. Dude quit on Auburn when they needed him. Plain and simple

I hope you are wrong on this. I personally will welcome him to Auburn at anytime. He played for three years and graduated. So I am OK with him leaving. Same goes for Shaun S. (Worm).
Now if Tank does decide to leave, then he does not need to step back into Lee County. Played 2 years, did not take to coaching very well. Get out of bounds for one. Missed holes that were there. Don't remember a game that I felt he won for us. We tried that at USCe, but we loss. What was his claim to fame. (NOTE: Hope he stays).

Will your opinion on that change if he goes somewhere else and plays well and scouts notice he’s better with good receivers and OL? Or is he forever a quitter to you?
I certainly agree and don’t think he’s an NFL talent but I don’t think it’s written in stone either. If he goes somewhere and turns into a 2nd or 3rd round draft pick he gets that last laugh here. The situation wasn’t going to improve at Auburn. Not this coming year.
We are talking about him having a chance to go earn millions here. Not a lot of jobs like that. Though I think if Bo is smart he should start angling for the talking head circuit. Former QB’s with recognizable names normally do quite well there.

I think *Bo and Worm will both be welcomed back. Graduated and gave us some memories including an iron bowl win.
*depending on where he goes

I dont consider him a quitter. A lot of fans and allums will. I dont know his reasons for leaving. Maybe Harsin is not the easiest guy to get along with? I have no idea. A lot of players have left since he came here. He seems like a straight forward, no bullshite guy but can you be that way with these soft kids today? Yes I know Saban can but he is Saban and has the reputation and tropy cabinet to be a dick. Harson honestly has not done anything yet.
I kinda dont blame Bo right now. If he did think he had a chance at the league, maybe they had a place in mind for him to go and give it a try. It was pretty obvious that it was not going to happen here. We are a dumpster fire right now and the future looks pretty shitty for at least a few years. No real talent coming it currently.
After what has happened to some of the transfer quarterbacks, I dont blame them anymore for moving around looking for a better environment.

I don’t have a problem with anyone wanting to leave after a coaching change. I know they committed to a school, but they also committed to a coach, style of play and coaching style. In Bo’s case, he loves auburn, there is no doubt of that. He graduated and wants to go enjoy himself his last year of playing and that won’t happen next year at auburn. Next year, I have a pretty good feeling, is going to be a rough go and this is why I also don’t necessarily blame tank if he leaves. He can go somewhere with a good line, put up numbers and be a first rounder. Following the line we have, he would really get beat up.

And how exactly do you know how the Oline will end up next year? The coaches plan on hitting the portal hard, so I don't see how anyone can say for a fact how the Oline will perform next season.

Oh my bad for assuming that our shitty offensive line would still be shitty next year. Portal or not, it takes time for a line to gel together so the odds of it being bad again are good.

I hate to loose him and i have defended him. But im starting to think that Bo and Patrick Nix think very highly of Bo Nix. And expect everyone in Auburn alabama to kiss Bo Nix's arse. Thats just my theory for today

Going good. Got another 4 1/2 years before we move when the kid graduates. Explosion in construction is gonna have this place as congested as Johns Creek in no time. Not to mention the morons that have taken over the Gwinnett BOE...time to gtfo.

Interesting note on Bo in the transfer portal.
He marked 'Do not contact' on his tag, which usually means he already knows where he is going.
Will be interesting who that is and points out he had one already lined up before he actually entered the portal...
