The first play or at least the first series was a prelude to the mediocrity we’ve endured lately.

what is the preseason ranking for Auburn this season? I know we're not Top 25 but you would think it wouldn't be so hard to find their ranking but I am having no luck.

Auburn is receiving votes so probably 28th or so.

Baylor and Auburn are probably right next to each other in rankings. We’ll know what Auburn is week 1, in my opinion.

I agree. We're week 1 underdogs to Baylor. That shows how low our "name" has dropped. If we get solid QB play, I think we can blow that game out of the water...need it to set the tone for the season. A week 1 loss and we're in trouble...

We have the edge on Defense by a big margin imo but Baylor has a legit QB. 3000 yards 28 TD and an 83 QBR good for 7th overall.

Would love for someone to do a detailed breakdown of the week one matchup. Like key positional strengths for Auburn/Baylor. Maybe throw in a few comps of Auburn X position vs Baylor X position etc. I just don't know much about Baylor to do this but I feel like it would be a cool concept to know where we stand even though we're still in fall camp.

That happens when coaches started losing every single OOC game to a team with a pulse. And even the ones who dont have one.

I cant believe anyone would think that Auburn would be favored over Baylor, on the road in Texas on a Friday night, the first game of the season with a brand new team

I was shocked it was not -6

Auburn is -2.5 right now. Not that it means anything, but Vegas knows everything.

Others receiving votes: Oklahoma 221, Missouri 142, Louisville 126, USC 116, Utah 86, Baylor 76, Auburn 50, Iowa 49

So maybe ranked 30 according to ESPN going into 2025 season.

This team is hardly brand new. Mainly just the QB.

AU 34
Baylor 23

And that score is closer then the game really is (gotta stay healthy through fall camp but get the work in as well)

Baylor misses an extra point late to lose the game

I'm gonna spit fire if I ever seen a 3 man rush again!!! Fire anyone defensive coach who even thinks it other than a trick play.

Remember those early Bruce pearl teams that were head scratchers at times but did well? I hope we’ve seen some of that and this year’s the turning point. I’m feeling decent about it.

I do love that girl, but honestly, where does Auburn look to for any real reason to believe?

Those teams were thin. Bruce had to build from the ground up.

And that very much parallels the football situation. Hugh has been stockpiling talent. Now we have to see if he can deliver like Bruce did.
