Other than having an abysmal record under him, did he have personality problems/piss people off (other than losing) a la Sunny Galloway style?

Curious because of all the Twitter hate and signs yesterday.

Also, was a reason given why he didn't attend the game yesterday? Or is it bc he's a bitch in which case that answers my question above

All you really need to know is that he was an a-hole that threw the players under the bus when in reality he was the worst basketball coach in Auburn history.

He ran off just about every player he recruited. Honestly, I think he did ok with the talent that he kept. Being an a-hole with zero ability to market a program won't work at Auburn. The guy ran us into the ground with his pathetic roster management.

Calipari stated he was on a recruiting trip because they're having problems getting recruits to contact Kentucky.

As far as Barbee at Auburn, his biggest downfall was a lack of passion and care. He kept himself distanced from his locker room, his staff, and the community as well.

I feel like from an ability to coach X's and O's and just knowledge of the game, Barbee wasn't bad. But had know clue how to actually be a HC.

I met him at the RTJ golf course a couple of times and he was as nice as he could be.

Met him twice away from AU and he was nice. I was really thinking he'd get AU turned around. He now has blocked me on Twitter.

Yup, and we knew about before we hired him too. Right we hired him there was articles that came from UTEP talking about what a shitty person he was. All about himself. Very rude behind closed doors, but in public was nice but it was fake. Talked about how basically the only interaction he had with his players was at practice and games. Made zero effort to get to know his players on a personal level, and if they ever needed anything they had to talk with assistants because his door was always closed.

Jacobs knew this, he just wanted a hire that looked good on paper.

The impression I always got from people was that Barbee viewed this as a stepping stone.

When the stepping stone turned out to be quicksand he hated everything AU

I am no insider by any means, but from the outside it appeared Barbee was very good at bringing in talent, but could not keep the talent in Auburn.

We had so many good players come in for a year or two and leave there was never in consistency on the team and it felt like every year Auburn would start over with new guys.

I am not talking about bringing in superstars who would go one and done to the NBA. But guys who would be pretty good with potential and would transfer to other schools. If he could have had a core group stay and play together for a few years he would have had something.
