This season is weird so I dont really care so much about the record. I care way more about the offense. If the offense comes out and doesn't look any different, then to me that would be deserving of being fired.

No one is getting fired this year unless there is some scandal that pops up. Every coach will get a pass this year. Revenue will be way way down plus what little revenue that is made will have to be shared with the title IX sports.

I'll predict 7-3 but anything could cause you to win or lose a game. Like someone testing positive or a positive test and an injury to the same position. Just won't know how it going until the season is over. For me as long as the social justice crap doesn't come into the games then I will just enjoy this season because I didn't think it would happen. I'm very interested to see if Bo can get to around 55% or higher on deep throws, and improved to around 65% or higher in all throws. OL development will be huge this year with so many young guys. WR development and DB development will go a long way to seeing what might be possible in '21.

I agreed then and still agree now... he is mediocre when he cannot exploit the rules.

So this is another Gus sucks thread.

How does he exploit the rules? What the run/pass option rules? Everyone plays by the same rules.

If I'm not mistaken didn't we just win the west in 2018. Untimely injury to the SEC POY leading into the championship game and we probably win and go into the playoffs as probably the hottest team in the country and still of the Big 6 in the conference year over year we play the toughest schedule by far.

With his buyout and the revenue loss, Gus gets a pass on his success or lack of this year barring a Chizik type SEC record.

I do want to see a different offense that allows for the QB to produce better results on drives and red zone success. If we do, then we have a chance to be a little better than last year.

This should be the season for no excuses for Gus. He has a QB with a season of experience and his buddy is on the sidelines as OC...whether he's calling the plays is TBD.

Replacing just about the entire OL is sort of a big deal...

Urban Meyer was quoted as saying he thinks every team will lose 2 games because the SEC is just going to beat up on each other.

Without the normal cupcakes and all the uncertainty about personnel who might have to sit out if they get diagnosed with COVID, I could see this happening. Imagine any top tier team losing two or three starting offensive lineman before a game against a mid-tier team. That would pose major problems.

We averaged just under 70 plays per game in 2010.
We averaged 73 in 2019.

This is all bullshite

It wasn't about wins..it was about 'high octane offense' and our inability to run it because of the substitution rule.

No one is worshiping Gus. But if they have figured out his offense we must have crappy defensive coaches in the league now because with a true freshman QB and a shaky OL in run blocking we finished 3rd in the league in offense behind LSU and Bama.

Does Gus have some boneheaded calls? Yes. Does Gus have some predictable calls? Yes. But so does every other coach. That’s why teams scout each other and study’s habits. Weird argument to say teams have figured out Gus yet just won the west, finished 3rd in offense last year, and basically improved the weaker parts of the team over the past 5 years (defense).
