I was watching Get Up from this morning. Gus said we had 33 positive tests but none in the last 4 weeks. A few tests are still pending.

Also saw where UNC already closed their campus

quote:

They said 177 cases of the dangerous pathogen had been confirmed among students, out of hundreds tested. Another 349 students were in quarantine, on and off campus, because of possible exposure to the virus, they said.

I do not believe it was 33 players, but 33 test.

Malzahn direct quote

“We brought our guys back June 4. We’ve tested our players 863 times, which is a little bit more than seven times per players. We’ve had 33 positives over the course of the summer. We tested our staff over five times apiece. We’ve had one coach test positive. That was earlier in the summer. We’re using to the gold standard test, the test that they actually stick it way up your nose and the saliva, and so I really appreciate our administration with the amount of testing they’ve allowed us to do and with the best testing out there available for us with that. We did test our team last week. We got some very good news. We had zero positives. We tested our team and staff. So that gives us a lot of confidence going into fall camp today and getting started.”

“We will have four players that will not start with us. They’re still going through their protocols, but they will be back with us by the end of the week. Oscar Chapman, our Australian punter, he arrived in the States on Saturday and he is going through the acclimation period right now.

ETA: JGT: Some players tested positive more than once during the same episode.

It’s about cases now man. Keep up! Deaths don’t matter anymore. Total. Cases. Repeat after me.

Deaths is a lagging indicator. Wait two weeks. Many will be dead!

Sources: The NCAA Division I Council decided today that fall sport student-athletes can compete in any amount of competitions this year and it will not count as a season of eligibility. This still needs to be approved by NCAA Board of Governors on Friday.

This was so stupid to begin with. Have classes online, let the football players be on campus if they want to play this season. Boom, you created a bubble. Problem solved using the gold standard of "common sense " one side loves so much. Instead these idiots tried to open back up to "normal" and it probably will cost us the season.

Covid has proven that most people in these high paying jobs have no idea what they are doing because they didn't build the structure.

no have the students there, its stupid to have online classes. The survival rate is 97+% and in college student its 99%. Local businesses need college kids there to be able to make it.

If I'm paying tuition for my student to go "on line" and we play football, I might burn some stuff down. It's either safe or it's not.
