New staff with no relationships with elite high school players yet. Next year should be the tell on if this staff can recruit with the big boys.
Sign a small but talented class of about 15 players then fill needs in the roster in the portal again.
‘27 go balls to the wall for high school talent. Problem is if you sign top 100 players you have to play them to keep them. True freshman or not.

Corch, resist the temptation to make “no established relationship” excuses for this staff. Didn’t slow Freeze down his first year. Let’s not revisit the year of making excuses for Harsin.
It’s fine to miss on recruits if you have a pivot. Also, I’ll reserve all judgement on our recruiting until August. But if it isn’t looking way up by then, Golesh better reconsider his money strategy.

Recruits want relationships with money first, staffs second.
If Bruce couldn't close on long standing relationships because of money nobody can.

A lot of the top recruits mention that they had relationships with our current staff when they were at USF. Its as if the staff knew in the near future they would be moving to a bigger program

Are we still paying for visits? That would explain a few of the names that have been showing up who aren't that close to committing to us.

Everyone does so I’m sure we are.
I personally think we’re being hamstrung by the Athletic Director.

How so? Same stuff as last year with the revenue sharing? Surely the money people would be aware of this, wouldn’t they?

Yes, same type stuff. Cohen insists on being on the right side of history on this, even though absolutely nothing is going to happen to the schools who are playing dirty.
Yes they are, If Cohen doesn’t adjust I’d be shocked if he were still the AD a year from now.

Thanks for the input. Fairly unacceptable given what has happened and good to know the PTB aren't going to put up with it. I understood his position last year and frankly we just got some bad intel from Tubs on how that vote was going to go regarding it. However not pivoting with how it has changed since then, baffling.

I am 100% ready for him to go. We lucked into Golesh.

I think paying kids to visit is non value added. Im reminded of a speech I heard the great Red Auerbach, the GM of the Celtics. He said they were signing Larry Bird, the numbers were done, and then his agent comes in with this chicken shat stuff.
.
He wanted the Celtics to pay for four games for Larry's mom to attend. Now of course this would entail a jet, hotel suites, limos, meals at the best restaurants for an entire crew. So Red pulls the cigar out of his mouth, looks at Larry and says "We are about to sign you to the most lucrative contract for a rookie in the entire history of the NBA.....and you wont even pay for tickets for you mother to watch you play????"

MJC is supposed to commit today.
A lot of chatter on Miami boards saying he commits to us.
Wiltfong changed his prediction to Auburn recently.
