its telling that the commits are all saying they are liking what they are hearing from the staff about the plan to rebuild the program

obviously getting commitments and keeping them are two different things, but it’s encouraging that we’re getting top 100 players this early in the process

I think bringing on Bama's OL coach as an analyst has definitely helped as well. He's been a very solid recruiter everywhere he has been, just struggles when it comes to on field coaching. Very big pickup

Getting commitments, keeping them, and winning with them are three different things.

I'm excited to get a big time player but also still extremely cautious to get my hopes up. Let's not forget that Freeze might have been--on paper--our best recruiter in program history.

Freeze was recruiting in a different world than Malzahn, Tubs, Dye, etc. were, so I wouldn't go that far.

Anywho, who was our last OL catch this big?

From a very quick scan, looks like the last HS OL recruit that was rated this high or higher was Calvin Ashley in 2017

I think whatever spell Freeze casts on recruits and their families works in just about every era. However, he could not coach them at all.

I think Calvin Ashley was our highest rated offensive line recruit, but we know how that turned out.

In the NIL era, until the pen hits the paper I don't consider any recruit committed.

I forgot about him. Rumor was that he was fighting some mental health issues IIRC.

Same.

They never said other than a medical issue. It was kept very hush hush if I remember correctly

Chad Simmons just put in CB's for us for four guys, all atleast 60% or above confidence:

4* LB Jeremiah Culpepper
3* Edge Marquis Evans
4* DL Karlos May
3* CB Nash Johnson

ETA: Fong did as well except for May.

Didn't see this here but I probably just missed it. Anyway, this is Lamons telling coach he's committing.

We are currently 7th in the SEC recruiting rankings. This class looks like a wash. We will probably end up around 15th. I like Golesh so far, but we aren't winning with this level of talent. All of you can make your excuses, but you know it is true. The only silver lining is UGA and Bama are terrible too. The recruiting is shifting towards the programs spending money.

What is "this level of talent" and why are you speaking in absolutes?

Never mind, you also said this about our baseball team:

We arent deep so if our starters struggle, we arent very good at the backups.
