Yea, this is one where for years and years I’ve watched us either slow play and lose or just not take guys that are dying to be at Auburn. It’s a position of need and a guy with good natural ability, just needs to continue to grow. Won’t ever be upset taking OL options.

The difference between a 3 and 4 star OL is what, attending a few camps? High School OL is such an unexact science, impossible to know who will pan out, 3, 4, or 5*. The transition from HS to college is crazy for them. Have to work really hard in the weight to change and develop all the weight they have to carry, gain weight in a healthier way, and keeping it on are all challenges. Impossible to know which will or won't at 17 years old

We are so back. Justifying 3* is peak AU recruiting.

Lol, I'm pretty sure many posters here have some version of that post saved and just copy and paste it every year.
Funny how when we got a higher 4 star last week it was cause to celebrate.

It is difficult to tell how most will develop but some you just know they goin to be good reeal good.
I remember to the end of Malzhan reign we recruited a couple of dough boys and Alabama was reeling in Alex Leatherwood, that was a grown man the day he walked onto campus.
Or Jonah Williams, . Kid starts as a freshman, and Im watching this California kid on the sidelines take a pinch and shove it in his lip, Now that is adapting to the culture, lol.
Still some targets out there, lets see how we close on the OL.

Don't we get another 20 extra scholarships now? The cap went from 85 to 105?
I am 100% good with taking some 2 or 3 star kids that want to be at Auburn in those extra 20 spots. Even if they are projects, kids that are good with a scholarship and love for the place that aren't eating up a bunch of NIL but can have time to improve.

If all he ever becomes is a quality backup at a couple positions I will take it. We have been missing that for a while now

Rance is a good kid. Its not the Tennessee BBQ that got him like that it is the good ole Alabama BBQ. he is from Glencoe. He transferred to Southside in 8th grade the to Brentwood last year.
My son is friends with him and played with him at Southside, his brother Jamin plays at Duke. He was born and bred Orange and Blue.

I’m quite curious what strategy the people complaining about 3 star linemen would install in building a roster these days? The game has completely changed with the NIL/portal.
It has to be a nightmare to manage all of the NIL. We have absolutely no clue what even a ballpark number is that the staff are working with. How much money did we invest in Deuce?
Picking up a kid that loves the school, has the frame to play and was probably a bargain price seems like a no brainer.

If tweet fails to load, click here. I think he will visit A&M the weekend after as his last visit. We definitely have a good shot, but they’ve been on a spending spree and absolute heater recruiting wise, so he will be a very difficult pull no matter what.
