Just closed out a big recruiting weekend. Will be another loaded week.
Monday many targets.
Wednesday many targets.
And again on Friday another large group coming in for the team.
Tip of the cap to the coaches, support staff, and recruiting department working their asses off.

Cole mentioned earlier that Blake Woodby showed back up for another visit this weekend. Very encouraging news with him.
Believe his teammate 4* LB Blake Deas will be committing soon so I’m sure that helps as well.

That kid does not look like a dl, must have some serious weight in his lower half

He is just ending his junior year of high school. Most players put that extra work in the summer between junior and senior season. Frame and athleticism is the primary factors when looking for and ranking players.

Deas bumped to a 4* on rivals. Not sure where he’ll play at the next level. Bit of a tweener.

Probably the same spot Harrris from last year and if we land Winters this year. Same spot.
Head hunter small cover linebackers. Or in the box safety how ever Durkin describes that position. Maybe the money position is what he calls it. If I’m remembering correctly.
I think this is the new rotation position within base defense. If a pass set on offense probably use a nickel player. If it’s more of a run set on offense probably use the money backer (rover).
I have thought for a couple years now that the defense of tomorrow is 4 corners. With 1 that can be physical and a Rover. 2 backers and 4 down linemen. One being a pass rusher. To bring another rusher you could role down your outside backer or your Rover off the edges or even up the A gap

Smuphy,
Did Bryce Deas just camp with us or a OV this past week, I had not seen much about him, we offer today, we are his favorite, and he is a take? That was quick.

Wonder if that means coaches are losing faith in Winters, or at least hedging with Deas.

Pretty sure he camped and showed out. One of the On3 guys said they were told Deas could be a day one starter on special teams.

He showed out at camp. I believe we’d still take winters even with Deas.
Posted on 6/10/24 at 11:25 pm to smuphy72
Absolutely would take Winters. Winters in my opinion of the players we are predicted to land maybe the most questionable. UGA really wants him. Granted Hugh will not little ol’ Georgia just take someone he wants. It’s a battle.

Thanks guys. I see what you are saying Smuphy. We are recruiting Woodby, his teammate shows up for our camp and is offered. Apparently Woodby traveled back down to Auburn with Deas, nothing like a long road trip for a recruiting pitch

4* Bryce Deas has committed.
Moves us to 8th nationally per 247.
