I wouldn’t consider that good news necessarily. It’s definitely news though. Guy is years away from contributing and Lew will be here two more seasons.

He will probably redshirt. Doesn't hurt get a head start in a college weight program.

Just what I was thinking. Pretty smart move. I saw that video of big cat, Kail said he contacts Babalola every day

…and spending next year in a college nutritional / strength program will aid his game more than a year in a high school program. Smart move if you can swing it

Goes without saying but we really need Babalola. We have a lot of OL committed but they are mostly our lower rated recruits. It's an improvement over Gus/Harsin but still not to the level we need to compete with the top teams consistently.

Watch out Randy I said our OL recruits weren’t elite and got crucified last week.

We need some elite talent on the OL. Just like any other team.

Is Babalola a guy that’s ready immediately?

No one is crucifying anyone for saying are OL commits aren’t elite.

Here is what 247 says about Babalola.....

quote:

Likely needs time to develop physically and technically in college, but appears to be one of the 2025 class' highest-ceiling offensive tackle prospects.

He has only played football for a year or two, so it would take some time.

I'm guessing we hit the portal for more O line talent. I'm hearing Dice and Shull are extremely talented, but the rest will probably need 2 seasons to contribute We've taken several steps forward in Oline recruiting but need Babalola to make this class elite.

Button up podcast had Kail on.

Just what you guys had mentioned. He is 16 years old now. Will come in May. Said he will redshirt and get to play behind Lew and learn from him.

Talks/communicates with Babalola a lot and talking with McGuire.

Freeze communicates very well that the recruits will be the difference makers, the current situation doesnt have much impact.

Several people believe that Ward can contribute early as well. Buster is viewed as an interior guy with a lot of upside. I love the current OL class and would prolly be the best ever if you add Babalola.

Babalola probably needs to add some size and strength he’s a thin framed lineman but has long arms and good feet. Probably needs a redshirt or backup role at minimum to be able to compete in the SEC

I’m glad we or they moved on from Carde Smith. Talked to his cousin the other night. Kid can’t bench 225. He seems to think in the end he ends up at Mississippi State
