Yea I think they have that part wrong. There was a report from 7/28 where he was mentioned that he would actually be in cleats that day for the first time, so he was at camp. Sounds like his arrest may have actually been later that day after practice

Could be. They said the incident happened earlier in July and the vape was sent off for testing and came back positive, so he was then booked on the 28th in Fayette County and he was bailed out on the 29th. So maybe he went and turned himself in or they came and got him (which is crazy over a vape). Camp started the 29th. So it's possible he was there. Is it possible the team wouldn't know it had happened?
ETA: You're right. I finally got to where I could sit down and read the story from, of course, AL.com.

Davidson was with the team at the beginning of preseason camp, but limited in practice due to an injury.

For sure.
As dumb as you or I may think the law is (and it is dumb...but it's law) don't give them a reason to even talk to you.

Vape pens are not conducive to athletics. I am surprised these kids even use them. Some programs ban coca cola from athletes but our kids are smoking vapes? So dumb.

I mean, what is the team going to do if the player wants to go to the parking lot of a foreclosed business in what i'm assuming is some abandoned strip mall type outlet or something and smoke out of his golf cart?

Athletes that are destroying their lungs are not serious about football. Can them

"Biletnikoff had this pregame ritual, he would go in the bathroom puke out his guts, come out, light his last cigarette and head to the tunnel, flick it run out the tunnel onto the field and into the hall of fame....whatever works baby whatever works".
I do agree, if its a vape, a joint, or a double deuce, could you at least do it someplace out of the public eye.

Regarding this "confidence building" for Arnold.
Through spring and the beginning of fall, Im certain they want to ensure the offense is installed. If you are blitzing every play and he is continually checking down, its not much of an install.
Sounds like they are past that and blitzing regularly. I heard one of the podcasters saying they were running some four front lines will all DEs and edges, no DL.
Also heard one say on a series of three plays Newboy broke up a pass, got a sack, and intercepted a pass. Our DBackfield is scary good and deep.

The narrative surrounding shite for brains podcast whores is a fickle thing and often doesnt even have to make sense.

Apprehensive is good.
It shows a healthy respect and once successfully past he'll have some (current) real life affirmation to build from. And Baylor ought to be stout enough to cause some inner reflection... not to say fear. To me it's always been a good thing and not something to dread. Helps keep you on your toes if your being honest and not deluded.
And it seems appropriate all thing considered. I'd be more worried if he was over confident before the new team was tested.
ie: last year's o'line would have me wondering too

What podcast is that?
Locked on Baylor. Zac Blackerby, the Locked on Auburn guy was on that one so it’s not a dig. Just clickbait. Pretty much all of the Locked on podcasts are bad about clickbaity titles.

Think about this if you are a head coach. You see where the weak points are on the offense and what needs to be worked on.
You tell Durkins to capitalize on exactly that, let them see live what a lack of execution in certain aspects will cause in a game. Review the film and fix it.
From podcasters it sounds like Durkin was bringing them from all angles, good for the OL and the QBs. Melendez, Atkins and Deas all mentioned.
I have heard nothing about Jacoby Mathews the number one safety in the 22 class that transferred in the summer? Did he even play in the scrimmage? Where is this guy?

Heard a couple of podcasters talking about the scrimmage on Friday. According to those guys, Jackson Arnold had a rough day and we could not run the ball at all.

Who’s the backup?
IF Arnold gets injured, is it the freshman?

If Arnold gets hurt with plenty of goals left then it's definitely not the freshman.
