Its a day of celebration in Auburn. Signing with Nike and cleared some dead weight.

I would love to have Tre back as a back up.. I don't know if there's an upgrade out there willing to be a back up. We have to get a 2nd PG no matter what though, even if Denver plays some there he's not good at it.. he's just serviceable.

Going forward the more I think about it, I just don't think it makes much sense to take a freshman PG and expect them to start. We should always be looking to have a good, experienced PG. The position to just too important to spend time trying to develop players now. A good recruit who is ok with being a back up is fine, but look at UConn did with their PG this year.

As memphis said, there is a recap on page one but you are correct, if things fall a certain way, Bruce will have major portal work to do.

At this point, it seems the only sure fire returners are:
1. Denver
2. CBM
3. Chaney
4. Addarin
5. Tahaad
6. Jahki

Possible Returners
1. Cardwell
2. Moore
3. Broome
4. Donaldson (if he opts out of portal)

Seems like the number could be anywhere from 3 to 7 portal players.

Hokanson:

1. Seems very confident that Cardwell will return.
2. Seems optimistic about Broome.
3. Says Donaldson caught staff off guard with his decison. Sounds like NIL and playing time are the cause. The Donaldson "camp" thinks he deserves 25-30 min per game. And as Hokanson says "that's not happening at Auburn".
4. Aden leaving wasn't a surprise. Staff seems indifferent about his decision.
5. Auburn really likes Pegues and Rice. Pegues is being courted hard by Florida and Indiana is a player for Rice. He thinks AU will only take one or the other with these two...if they can get one of them.

PG/SG Duke Miles from Highpoint. Was at Troy for 3 years prior to transfer.

I type in his name and first two stories are Alabama reaches out and Michigan makes contact.

He's from Montgomery.

Yeah Tre is crazy if they want those kind of minutes on this level. He can probably get them somewhere, but it won't be for a top P5 team that's for sure. If he's gone I'd like to see us go get a starting PG from a small school. No real chance of going pro so getting less minutes won't be that big of a deal as long as we can give them a decent NIL and it shouldn't be hard to beat a smaller school for that.

Always assumed it was either Pegues or Rice. They will both want 25+ mins a game so there's just no way we can both. Got to have 1 of them though.

It was painful watching Tre and his shot selections. He has a ton of work to do if he wants 30 mins.

I feel pretty confident in Broome coming back, got a HUGE NIL deal for one year.

How big a deal? It was a million, must be more than that.

Wait, this board downvoted me midseason when I said he was likely going to transfer because he was awful.

He is a bust because he quit. Not because he didnt have the talent to get better.

He shot 30% this season and didn’t score a point in the NCAA tournament. He was a colossal bust in every aspect.

He was also just a freshman.
