He screwed himself. He showed little interest in recruiting when he should’ve been hyper focused hence the hit job. Anybody that wants Auburn to succeed should be crying that the PTB didn’t finish their job.

I’m still scratching my head from “he showed little interest in recruiting……”.

How does any coach much less him… think that recruiting is not one of the major building block’s especially coming to the hothead of the SEC.

I really have a hard time believing his interest level.

Now putting together a crappy recruiting plan. Maybe.

All signs point to Cobb committing tomorrow.

English isn’t gone yet I think Auburn still leads.

Faulk would be a massive unforgivable loss.

Glenn I would say we lead something like Auburn 50% OSU 30% LSU 10% and the rest 10%.

Russaw and Smith are in play for Auburn but we better start out hot as hell and win the first 5 and look competent against UGA.

Other then that everything is burning down.

What's the backstory on why Faulk would be such a huge miss? Everyone says that I just don't know the history.

Because the staff felt really good about him and he was our best shot at an instate "elite" recruit (depending on how you want to categorize Cobb; Faulk is unanimously ranked higher). He also plays Edge which we massively need long-term players for. And now we're about to lose him to FSU supposedly, which has a coach that is in as deep shite as Harsin is.

By all accounts we were way out front for him and he was our best shot at getting any of the top 10 guys in the state.

Faulk grew up an Auburn fan. Has been an Auburn lean for months. Is a huge position of need. And if we miss on Faulk we miss on the 3 legit edge rushers from the state. Well that is it Russaw goes anywhere but AU and I think he and Smith are slight UGA leans.

We haven’t missed on him yet but I’m not sure we are leading now.

I had mentioned before Cobb, Faulk, Glenn but you can add English to that list. All 4 were essentially must gets and Auburn had huge leads for each just 2 months ago.

So let's see I'm an "elite" recruit who can commit to AU now and they may tank big come the fall, or I can secure my spot with another school and always do a flip.

He’s high enough he doesn’t need to fill a spot to make sure he gets in somewhere. When he commits he’s done. From all accounts he’s just that type of kid.

Somewhere is not the same as securing one of the two spots he'd rather go.

BTW: Cobb announcing @ noon.

Surprised doesn’t seem like much excitement for the Cobb commitment on the board. It’s a big pickup for us. Reminds me a little of Tre Mason maybe not a slippery as Tre but better hands and might have better top end speed.

I don’t think folks are going to get excited until they see 4 or 5 OL commitments and a couple of DTs.

I agree but he will probably be the best back on the roster from a talent standpoint the moment Tank leaves. Obviously he has to do it on the field but Clemson wanted him bad and we have been losing out to them all year nice to grab a very good player.

Nah I think Cobb is a great pickup. I think we're taking him for granted because he's been considered a lean for so long. I've seen him compared to Alvin Kamara (style, not necessarily talent) in a couple of places. Seems to be considered a good one-cut zone runner with good hands which is exactly what our offense wants.

I really like Cobb and have since he was a low 3*. I do want him as part of a 2 class back with a larger RB but he’s the type of offensive threat that Auburn really needs

I’ve been pretty busy lately and we’re in the dead period so I’m just letting you guys voice your thoughts on recruiting right now.

Was out all day and just got home... Cobb is actually getting a little bigger. I'm hopeful that with college weightlifting that he will continue to fill out

Also I'm gonna need this board to put some respect on Caddys name as a recruiter.. Like I said before, he's not elite but he's damn good. About the only person on staff pulling their weight and he does it without an offense or OL to sell.
