The only real except is Philip Fulmer.
If you want cut and dry, just look at recruiting rankings. If we start to be in the top 5, there are no questions. In the top ten, we will be solid (iffy on ultimate results - folks can quibble).
Having any must do by year 3 (especially year 2) is just being in denial of the Haskins incompetence, Malzahn mismanagement (OL,QB), and the generational power (at this time) of main rivals UA and UGA. That said, we should see some success by year 3.

We needed a center for sure. Huge pickup. Not even sure the quality but just someone with some experience is big.

I heard about this happening yesterday, just didn't know the name.
Avery Jones is actually the #5 rated transfer OL on 247. He's actually rated one spot ahead of Dillon Wade.
This is HUGE. Immediate starting Center. This OL has already been rebuilt for next season now; just watch out if we land the Baylor OG today.

Grad transfer. Ordinary transfer restrictions do not apply. Can transfer any time, no visit windows, no one time limit, etc.

Interesting. So with grad transfers I guess there is nothing that locks them into a school like signing a letter of intent or enrolling?

An Illini fan I know said he was enrolled already, but I don't think that's a binding commitment...just means you're academically registered
The guy could also be blowing smoke and not know Jones' enrollment status, but I like the narrative that we poached Jones

This is incredible work by Freeze. We're going to have a much better offensive line.
