Fake news, everyone knows Harsin doesn’t get involved with recruiting.

His recruitment was weird. Supposedly he wasn't a take at any of his other top schools.... but today Sorey said he's been committed for 2 months (I don't actually believe this lol).

Solid player though and a good get for us.

Looks good athletically, but does not look like a natural catcher with his hands.

Jang and Corch are gonna get a rash when they see our recruiting rankings rise.

One of you was saying the other schools want him at S. We went after him as a WR.

I don't know if it was specifically S, but yes some schools saw him as a DB (I think that info came from JHead)

Interesting numbers regarding the portal. If the current increase in numbers continue, this year will see almost as many kids enter the portal as those that actually get schollys to D1 schools out of high school (portal entries including all divisions not just D1).

With the portal, and NIL the college game is beginning to resemble pros more and more.

As such , the portal for many schools will not be a place to "fix" a couple of gaps in the roster, but to build a roster (I think thats why Harsin is adding these admin people with pro admin experience).

For the Rams this past year, of the 53 players on the roster.....28 were not drafted by them.

The point is, some talk of the portal with distain, getting a raw kid out of high school versus one that has proven himself at the college level, might require a little different mindset.

I hope they get better than last year, because he really struck out on some stud Olinemen, WRs and QBs

Damn, I didn't know he was from Chipley. Tiny little farming town that has turned out some great athletes.

Amp Lee (older Auburn fans will remember him running all over us) was from Chipley. Artis Gilmore (really old people remember him) was from Chipley.

My favorite from Chipley...........Cliff Ellis.

Nah I actually like recruiting but I like getting commits as well. I’m sure this WR is just that Harsin kind of culture guy huh? Lol

No where else of schools he was interested in would take his commitment. I’m glad to have him committed but seriously if you knew the recruitment around this kid you wouldn’t be calling anyone out or beating your chest.

It’s almost impossible at this point for Auburn to finish outside of the Top 20 in recruiting but by some miracle last year we did it. Gonna have to have some strange things to happen to land inside the Top 20 this year as well.

I think Soren’s committable offers shrank because he wants to play WR instead of DB. UF was on him at DB. He was really good defensively at his 7v7 showings throughout the spring and summer

I think Ike Hilliard and Harsin did a good job here recruiting him for the position he’s most excited about. He’ll need development and seasoning but I think the consensus is that he’s a top end athlete, big and physical, playmaker with the ball, that’s gonna need some fine tuning.

Exactly, perhaps a better question would be, how would our highly touted DL look this season without, Jayson Jones, Spencer or Leota, which would enable them to double team on Hall and Wooden all day long. Hmmmm.....

Some with the obsession of high school recruiting (yes, its very very important) continue to look at the portal as if it is JC. No one likes the portal, but I like how Harsin is setting up the system to take advantage of it.

Its reminiscent of the brits clinging to battleships while the US embraced aircraft carriers during WW2......

I remember going to Aday looking forward to seeing this new recruit Alan Evans. He didnt do much but this trouble maker out of McCalla did pretty well...his name escapes me.

Never judge a man without walking a mile in his shoes, that way if you dont like him, you will be a mile away....and you will have his shoes, Corch is your closet empty...just kiddin, just kiddin.

Go look inside last year’s recruiting thread. Don’t act like you don’t know. Many of those guys are already named starters on other teams.

I didn’t say he wasn’t a good pickup but yes I absolutely believe he had no other big offers to play offense. Plus he was essentially dropped or stop being pursued by 2 of his top 4.

If only it wasn’t reported everywhere by anyone that knows recruiting. Even the Auburn homer recruitniks have said this
