For context he was asked about trimming the QB race down from 3 to 2.

It was nice knowing Thorne. Great luck at Eastern Kentucky

Ashford and Gurnur need to be the two.

While everyone talks about Ashford being at a disadvantage.....we seem to forget when he goes live....so does the ball.....

To me sounds like a good first scrimmage. Also sounds like we need more 11 on 11 work. Which we should be moving more to as we enter the middle of fall camp.

Some of the people off of their position races will begin to get less reps. Which is normal. By next scrimmage things should be cleaner for all positions.

There isn’t a 3rd scrimmage planned yet but most coaches use the 3rd scrimmage to rest the 2 deep and let the younger and guys down the depth chart to show what they can do towards the end of camp. It may not be a planned scrimmage just one they have that they don’t broadcast as a scrimmage.

No, Did Robby have his first completion of the day when he passed the microphone over to Holden?

Cliffs for those that didn't watch presser:

1) He thought he had narrowed it down to 2 QB's but after scrimmage he isn't so sure. Needs to watch the film before he makes any decisions.

2) When offense was in tempo they were OK. When offense slowed it down, they "got dominated" by the D.

3) WR's were disappointing. Wrong routes, loafing, etc. They have been good in camp but sucked during scrimmage.

4) RB's had a couple of big runs, including Alston.

5) D-line is "better than it was in spring" and it seemed to me he was saying they had a dominate scrimmage.

6) Secondary needs to tackle better.

7) Nixon at LB'er played the best out of that crew and created a lot of negative plays.

I read that as Robbie played himself back into the conversation for now.

McCallister from Vandy. That dude is going to be special

Why hasn’t he been? Didn’t produce much at Vandy and has started for like 4 years. Our DLine is going to struggle bad, it seems.

Robbie had a big run, even without being live, and a scramble with a deep ball to the back corner from about 30 out. Battie got loose a lot going off the edge, which could be a bad sign that we can’t set the edge on a 5’5” rb, but I’ll take it for now. Went into the scrimmage doubting Alston but his big run made me question it. He had one man to beat running by his side at about the 25 and managed to get in front of him and cross the goal line standing up. Came in pessimistic on all three and left with some cautious optimism.

Receivers are really big. Most of Thorne’s throws were highly contested, which could be a good sign defensively. Jackson had some good short runs where he turned nothing into 4-6 yds.

Admittedly, I didn’t pay attention the whole time and I got sick of checking the roster on my phone quickly, so I probably missed a lot.
