I still don’t understand why you’re being so aggressive toward me but I respect the vigor

Not a Tim Jackson guy myself.

I’m just in a wait and see mode on this next season. I’m not shitting on anyone for seeing optimism I’m just not necessarily sharing it with you. Same deal for the folks ready to pack it in and move on.

And I might find myself back on the optimistic train come spring with a new OC and some commitments. I’m happy to change my mind given new data. And I hope that happens

Not really intended for you personally. Cheers.

As it stands now, how many scholarship OL do we have?

OL recruits have to want to come here and all the ones we went after wanted to go elsewhere.

A couple of 3 star recruits weren’t going to change the narrative today. The most alarming sign to me about this regime is the lack of transfers from the portal. It’s a stupid rule change but I thought we would benefit, but we are a departure program now with very few arrivals. It’s a bad look..

First, this is a train wreck and we are fricked.

We didn’t get O or D line help in recruiting. This is a very Gus like class with a so-so ranking but filling no needs. Didn’t really get portal help at all. What ways could this ship get righted? It would have to be a slow build with a lot of losses in the process.

The portal is nice to fill gaps but to really build a team that still has to start in HS. We did decent on HS players but not great and so that has to be a focus for 2023 especially at OL. Tank is probably gone after this year so need to plan for that.

We still have I think 7 schollys to give this year and in the spring we are going to have to fill holes in the portal with those. WR is going to have to be a priority. OL with multiple years would be good but don’t think we are going to get any one year left OL out of the portal due to the seniors we have coming back.

For OC, don’t go the easy route of promoting kieasu but find a good up and coming OC maybe at a G5 school who is ready to take a step up that knows how to coach QB.

And in the end, we have to win some games next year.

That is how I’d start to turn the narrative around.

Do we have any leads at all for OC right now? I haven’t seen many leads ar all. Wonder if Harsin has talked with anyone serious yet, being at Senior Bowl and signing day and such.

General question —

On the next recruiting thread, would anyone want a roster breakdown by position and class?

I have one that I keep up to date.

Only OC name I’ve heard is Kieasu.

I agree with everything you've said except the OC. At this point, if Harsin will be calling plays, we should focus on a recruiting OC

If it's him why wait to announce it, especially with it being signing day?

It is dead period now so no need to rush on the OC hire. Best to make the right one (and I don’t think that is Kieasu).

If it’s a dead period it doesn’t matter who the OC is until they stsrt back working the portal and the 23 recruits.

While that used to be the case, with the transfer portal it’s always recruiting (retaining) season
