Difference of Napier is that he's been local for a while and sucessful

We only hit on AL/GA/FL guys, statically. Just focus 100% on that area.
We mostly sign AL/GA/FL guys. That’s because we mostly recruit those areas. But that does not mean we are most successful there. If we land 12 guys out of 100 (12%) recruited from those states then we were less successful than signing 2 guys out of 6 (33%) recruited from Louisiana. Those 6 guys represent a paltry amount of effort in relationship to the traditional area. My point is that as long as the proportions remain balanced it’s fine. If we start recruiting 30 guys in LA, 10 guys in the PNW, 10 guys from Massachusetts, or wherever else, the proportions are thrown off.
Being an absolutist on an area that ignores relationships outside of it is just silly. Recruit the guys you’ve got the best chance at signing. Some years in Louisiana that’s absolutely 0% but that wasn’t the case this last class with 2 guys on board.
It’s important to recruit to where your odds favor you the most. That’s typically going to be the traditional areas but sometimes due to relationships, coaching turnover, etc., that shifts slightly as it did this year and most years. Just my thoughts and observations

Napier didn't need 24 months to land Citizen.
Napier has been coaching in Louisiana for 4 years now. I'm sure he had a prior relationship with Citizen, or at the very least Citizen was aware of him and knew his background. It's not like he only said hi to him when he got to Florida.

Correct and Napier is bringing a lot of Louisianans with him on staff to UF. Napier’s running back coach is a NOLA kid and Citizen’s high school coach mentioned the staff relationships in an interview about all of citizen’s top schools.
Some here would suggest Napier just stick to FL because it’s where most of their recruits come from and because they only have a couple of Louisiana kids on the roster

In the same view why couldn't Harson pull his Oregon WR?

Exactly was my thought. Anyone thinking Napier just picked up targeting Citizen since being at Florida is fooling themselves.

We don’t need to shite on recruiting by ignoring context. We can shite on it fully with context
That’s all I want. Contextual shitting

I feel like maybe in a year or 2 that we might need to concentrate on recruiting. You know if we can keep a staff together long enough to build relationships.

Well shite… I guess if the recruiting guru is shitting on the shitty recruiting, I guess I’ll have to get with the shitty program.

This ‘22 class is below our standards. It’s still where I thought we’d be this time last year. I just didn’t like how it set up for us.
Expectations for recruiting in the upcoming 2023 class is much, much higher. I’m not encouraged that most of the top 2023 in state kids didn’t make it by Auburn in January, though. Most of them made it to UGA, Bama, and Clemson instead. February is a dead period so we won’t have visits anytime soon but hopefully that 2023 narrative changes sooner than later. If we see a nice turnout in the spring I’ll be a little more relieved than I currently am.

It's all part of the plan and process, just trust Harsin! We will be just fine!

The Pac 12 Champions, Utah, just had their best recruiting class on record. #35. Just played in their third consecutive Pac 12 championship game and won it. Beat top #8 recruiting classes Oregon. Beat them like a rented mule. Harsin is much like Whittingham. Get on board.

Yeah my biggest issue with the class isn’t where it’s ranked, it’s the composition. We failed to address our biggest areas of need.

Lol Harsin is not like Whittingham wtf are you talking about.

I'm surprised we aren't after more than just 3 people right now. With as much attrition as we've had this year and still having holes to fill.. I think you can only bring in 7 total in the portal and we've already brought in 3 (2 QBs and LB). I haven't looked at Juco list in a while, but surely there's a WR left worth taking a chance on or something.
