So what you’re saying is he was Auburn’s to lose until Austin.

this probably isn't good but on the other hand i like to see it. kid wants to grow and get better and win. hopefully we can find an OC who gets him excited.

We might go o’fer but Dukes has Citizen to LSU. Not a confident pick

Sounds like Farmer is even more quiet about his intentions. I think we’re gonna see a lot of varying predictions based on people gut feelings

We need to focus on AL/GA/FL. No clue why we are in Oregon and Louisiana. We hardly ever win battles there.

The same reasons you find endangered animals outside their native feeding grounds. Because they all dried up and they are searching for whatever scraps they can find.

PNW isn’t really a recruiting territory for us. The staff just happened to have a couple of relationships there so they pursued it. There’s nothing wrong with that and I don’t think it took away from recruiting elsewhere.

On Louisiana — they went after guys there on the news that Ed O was out. That gave Auburn a chance to recruit with LSU in Louisiana on equal footing. Ausberry’s brother is still in BR. We can’t just not recruit that kid because we might lose on Citizen.

I think AL/ UF/ GA has been our focus but sometimes you have a connection with a kid outside of that map and you’ve gotta see those through too.

On the 18 underclassmen in this class:

Alabama - 5
Georgia - 4
Florida - 3
Louisiana - 2
California - 1 (via JUCO)
Nebraska - 1
Texas - 1

Farmer is in GA. Pyburn is in FL. Citizen is in LA.

5 Transfers:
Alabama - 3
Texas - 1
Virginia - 1

All that seems reasonable to me

I said like 4 or 5 days ago that Pyburn and Citizens trips to Fla had me nervous... Interesting that Napier has only been there a short amount of time and is going to come in late and beat us for these guys (potentially)

Right but we also miss on guys in AL, FL, and GA. In fact, we mostly miss on guys from AL, FL, and GA think what you’re saying and what we both agree with is that it just needs to be proportionate.

AL/GA/FL needs to be 85%+ of our targets.

1 guy from OR, 1 guy from WA, 4 guys in LA doesn’t throw off that balance

You are proving my point. We only hit on AL/GA/FL guys, statically. Just focus 100% on that area. Good news is that region is primo football talent. Don't look to an Ivy school or ULL for talent.

That is why everyone should be at least somewhat worried about recruiting.

I know it’s been said in here that you have to give time for coaches to build relationships. But at the same time, if you’re a top tier recruiter you will have instant impact. You might not have a top 5 class right off the bat but you’ll see some effects. Haven’t seen that from Harsin yet at all

Napier didn't need 24 months to land Citizen.
