We just offered 2022 Edge/LB Jack Pyburn. Kid is a late-riser who put up a huge senior season. Super physical kid.
I'll take any kid out of high school whose neck is wider than his head.

Jack Pyburn.
Just looked and he says he does have some relation to Jim Pyburn. Love getting legacy Auburn players. They are great. Not that our whole team isn't great, they are the best as well.
I remember a Jeff Pyburn who played QB for GA in the 70's around the time I was at Auburn.
I bet that is his son....

With all this money talk going around, I would be interested to know how many of our current players have said "coach I want to have one of those talks like you gave Tank....and bring your checkbook".

So let me get this straight. You're arguing that we shouldn't try to get the best players we can because some of our players aren't that good? Then accuse other people of being ignorant?
Imagine Coach Saban in 07-08. Sorry Julio, I know you're the best receiver in the country but we have John Parker Wilson and Greg McElroy at QB. You can't come to Alabama because then other good players won't want to come here in the future.
This is an all-time terrible take.

I think the coaches are doing the right thing, to your point Randy. You simply cant wait til the other pieces might be in place or you will never get there.
The old Patton adage "I dont need the perfect plan next month, I need a decent plan now". We can figure out the rest as the field evolves.
Can someone clarify the spots, we have 7 left from the original 25, plus its up to 7 transfers. But if we had more than 7 transferring does that mean our number goes up by the same amount?

The short answer here is that you’re not going to get a lot of clarity because the numbers are constantly changing and there’s a ton of ways to get around the limits.
6-7 from the 25 are left depending on what Story ultimately does.
In a scenario where you have 10 transfers from your program then you’re allowed to replace 7. 7 is a hard cap on top of the usual 25. And those 7 additional scholarships can go toward HS or JUCO kids too — we’re not capped at taking 7 transfers.
What I don’t know is how grad transfers leaving impacts numbers. Grad transfers coming in don’t count to our yearly # (the 25 + 7) but must fit into the 85 scholarship limit.
And then there’s the 2020 season exemption.
All that to say — good luck figuring it out. But I imagine Harsin can take whoever he wants and make the numbers eventually work

Again I never said we shouldn't persue Williams or anyone else, just that if we land him hopefully we will get some more OL and WR immediately for him. How has that not been clear? Would you want Williams playing behind the OL currently on our roster? Do you think he'd want to?

I think we need better oline and wr independent of cw. We need a better oline for TANK

Thanks Jonesy, and God bless the coaches and recruiting staff. Grad transfers, Juco, Europeans, transfer, and still have to stay focused on the 6 or 7 undergrad spots we have left.....and find a DL coach.

It’s been on multiple other boards throughout the day. But no confirmation other than people thinking they saw someone that looks like him
