UGA 247 doesn't seem to think he's a target for them right now.

Someone posted on the OU insider boards, that aTm has spent around $30Million on recruits by getting donors to setup an LLC to sponsor athletes they want to go after also with a clause that they stay with the school or the money goes. NCAAF is fricked if this is allowed to continue. It's like as they said the SMU days.

My brother graduated LSU law and is part of a group doing the same thing there. It's actually pretty brilliant. It seems there is a bit of a tier system. Depending on how much a person/company pays, they get access to certain players for their promotional needs. Yea college sports the way we knew it no longer exists. Or maybe it does. Maybe this just leveled the playing field with the bamas of the world that have been doing it at this level for decades. Either way we'll see who plays the game the best.

I don't think NIL will really change college football that much. It is just now out in the open and legal and that has allowed the prices to soar. What I think is the worst thing for the game right now is the transfer portal. It is just free agency all the time. Hell, even the pro sports have some rules in place for free agency. We got QB going in the portal and committing to a school then committing to another school. It is like recruiting 24/7 year around, not just for prospects, but for every single player on the team. Good luck coaches and staff.

I read that. A&M boosters also have the payouts tiered by longevity so the players wouldn’t want to leave after the first year. This is taking the leverage out of the player’s hands and giving it back to the school and to the coach.

"Calzada completed 56.1% of his passes for 2,185 yards, 17 touchdowns and nine interceptions."

Is he a RS Soph? If he were to simply progress at the position he'd be good. If he were to be 64%, 2500, 21 and 7 that's an SEC starter. He's also got a big arm and a rep for toughness and playing through injuries. Also played at Buford which puts out abou 3-4 D-1 kids a year.

i like to see this. makes sense and kind of brings back the idea of you commit to a program/school and increases the thought of a team (along with getting paid a lot lol). however i do not like to see this --

he would definitely be an improvement over TJF but it would just be a very underwhelming signing at this point after we've been teased with all these other portal guys and Caleb Williams

We had about a 6 month window where it was all sunshine and rainbows… “oh look, player X signed a deal with Popeyes… isn’t that cute?” it’s now turning into straight pay-for-play.

The era of minor league football is upon us!

This is the way it has been for 60 years. No reason to get all Pikachu now that it is open.

You’re a fool if you think it was anywhere close to this prevalent.

It is what it is… the game is changing forever, likely for the worst. Doesn’t mean it shouldn’t have changed, but the way it’s been handled is a disgrace.

The only difference is the instant transfer rule. In the past it was mostly HS and Juco Recruits. Now folks are able to recruit current players. Heck even the NFL does not have 100% free agency.

Yeah, because most college boosters were paying 30-40 mil per recruiting cycle to sign players before it became "legal".

Not much change at all. Just out in the open now.

Ewers received 1 mil at OSU, and reported 3-4 mil on the line with Texas, but it's just in the open now and was always this way.
