Auburn has been weirdly selective at OL.

That’s what got our Oline in the position it’s in. Thought the new staff would be a little smarter than the old one.

The reason why they are going heavy transfer vs. HS on the OL is because of our roster breakdown. We have a ton of SR's and then nothing in the middle. They feel that they need to patch the void there before going hard at the HS class of OL in 2023.

Sounds reasonable. I hope we can get a few ready to impact our OL play.

The portal is always open. You can enter at any time
But you have to choose your destination and sign by a certain time to be eligible to play in the fall, right?

Like you can't go in the portal August 1, sign somewhere August 15, and play for the new team the first weekend in September.

I wonder why so late? It seems like it should match NSD in February. Players need to be in spring practice and to stay in shape.

For context, TAMU has given Jimbo 4 years to be at this point. 4 years to develop relationships in TX high schools. He still hasn't won the west. Saban and Kirby had those networks already in place.

Good point. And He already had a NC under his built and years of success. It is expected he be where he is now, especially at TaM.

Harsin is just going to have to be given time to see if his program can do it. As Jones said, 2022 was never expected to be top 10, and it seems like we flirted with it, which is pretty good considering the reactions over the last 3-4 months on his recruiting ranking...

Nah man. I’d rather check Auburn official Twitter in this case. For some reason I got word from Clemente was in but never got an alert.

Deion Sanders might be flipping the top recruit in the country, Travis Hunter, from FSU to Jackson State... would be the biggest flip of all time and the biggest get for a small school of all time. Will be absolutely crazy if he pulls that off.

I'm gonna be honest and say that this move has me stumped. I just don't get it. Especially Agbo. I just don't see where the train of thought is headed in regards to OL recruiting.

I get that the portal is a tool in the arsenal, but we aren't exactly in the position to be very picky when it comes to that group. It's baffling to me.

Read my previous post. They feel that the majority of the OL we bring in must be transfer guys who can play right away and act as a bridge. Our roster breakdown at the position is horrendous right now. The fact of the matter is that you can't expect any HS OL to step in and start. The "plan" is to sign a couple HS OL, and a big class of portal transfers who can slot in right away - and then go hard on the HS class in 2023.

I'm a little bit worried because they seem to be a bit slow/selective in terms of evaluating transfers whereas a lot of these kids are moving quickly; so if the plan is to bring in a lot of portal guys, they'll need to start making moves ASAP.
