Apparently he hit a player. Pass

I'm a little surprised we wouldn't give him a look at WR given our situation there right now. I haven't looked at film of him playing WR though so maybe they just don't think he's good enough.
I'm not so secretly hoping Mullen gets fired so that we can maybe make another run at Gibson. Not getting my hopes up at all though.

I’m guessing they’re fairly confident on Williams. Also have Fair, Kelly, and maybe Albert depending on where he ends up. Probably didn’t want to have many more guys that could play both ways
We agree on Gibson. I said a month ago that we’d only have a shot if UF was in shambles and we’re almost there

Wonder how he did as a position coach? I have no clue
Apparently he was a pretty good DB coach
This is one of the top trending tweets about him right now, tifwiw:

Jimmy Lake IS one of the best position coaches in the history of our Program. Don’t lose sight of that.
It didn’t end well, but he was huge for us for a LONG time.

247 reporting that 4* JUCO DL Jeffrey M’ba will visit for the iron bowl. He canceled his Michigan visit to make these plans instead.
Pretty good sign for Auburn, IMO. Canceled his Michigan visit, Will unofficial for the Iron Bowl and will use an official directly afterward while his family from France is here

Unless he's also visiting to see the other team as well

That’s what Perry is doing for his Iron bowl OV. Using it to watch Bama

Bama isn’t involved in M’ba’s recruitment. Considering he’s using his OV for the period of time after the actual game I’d say it’s clear he’s interested in Auburn

Need M’ba and Gilbert those guys can make noise day 1. KN says Auburn is the clear leader for Gilbert. Harsin really needs to get some LB on board.

Dead horse and all but man it bums me out to see all of our rivals racking up CBs and commits from high 4 and 5 star players and then seeing our name pop up only to see it's a zero star with offers from East Carolina and Buffalo.

I'm just watching this cycle. We still after UABs recruits next year, we will need to have a chat with Harsin. We all think this last weekend was bad.

KN says folks around Auburn think we close really strong.
Hard to trust because we haven’t seen it yet but we’ll just have to see what happens during the early signing period

Well lets take a realistic look at who we might end up with..
Antonio Williams- 4* WR
Malik Agbo- 4* OT
JaDarian Rhym- 4* DB
Austin Ausberry- 4* DB
Jeffrey M'ba- JUCO DT
Marquise Gilbert- JUCO DB
Antavious Woody- 4* OG/DT
Robert Woodyard-4* LB
I guessed on the most likely based on what I read and hear. I don't have access to the paysites though so if any of those names should be scratched off let me know. I'm sure I forgot a name or two too.

M’ba is a 4*. Gilbert yet to be rated. Probably won’t be very high
4* S Juwon Gaston from 2021, however we want to count that.
4* WR Darius Clemons is probably fully out now
4* DL Khurtiss Perry seems improbable
4* CB Lattarence Welch is one to watch. Think he’s behind Ausberry and Rhym
4* LB DeMario Tolan is set to OV so we have to watch that as well. KN seems to think we have a real shot there

I had Gaston in mind and still left him off.
Like you said, I would have Welch as one to watch, but I haven't heard enough to put him on the list with the others I feel more comfortable about.
I can't get a feel for Tolan at all. Same for the Mich commit thats thinking about visiting.
Are we still recruiting Keionte Scott and that RB from Texas?

3* LB Deuce Spurlock or 3* LB Micah Pollard?

Yes on Keionte. I think he’s their priority in the JUCO market right now along with M’ba
The RB is 3* Andrew Paul. He appears to be a late signing day guy. KN says he’s hoping to OV Auburn in January

Looking at that group of recruits though.. if we got all of them I think calling that a strong finish is fair to say. I still feel like overall we are missing impact players in this class and some positions we're recruited well enough, but it would be a decent class.

It’s not going to be a great class and was never going to be. I think it just needed to help us tread water into a full recruiting cycle with this staff. However, that’s contingent on them winning more battles in ‘23. Year 2 is huge. We’re seeing that with FSU right now. Long relationships matter and they’re doing it with a really bad product on the field.
Landing most of those guys will still be difficult even though a majority look pretty doable. Although, KN did say their confidence in Woodyard joining the class is as strong as ever, if not stronger.
He also mentioned that this staff intentionally works really, really quietly and that reporters don’t have great sense of who all is being pursued beyond the known names right now. They’ve just been told there’s more guys than what’s out there.
New staff so all of this has to be taken with a grain of salt until we see it materialize in about a month from now.

I sense totally the same thing you mentioned about the way this staff under Harsin operates very low-key and quietly. They don't let ANY reporters inside enough to let leaks get out.
It's been that way w/ our AD and now our HC. It seems there is a pattern to how they like to work.
I'm fine with it, as long as the results prove it worth, especially starting in '23.
