Checked the Rockets subreddit, they're taking it as a positive sign of Jabari's competitiveness.

Jalen commented post game and said it was nothing, and went on to praise Jabari's clutchness, and said Jabari is a player that will be getting the ball at the end of close games

Just like last year, although we had Jabari, I still think we lack consistency in shooting 3’s with our guards. I hope WG and KJ has improved but I’d rather it be more consistent than erratic, and play with controlled chaos. Thinking more instinctively. I want to see that and until I do, I don’t know if we can win it all. SEC maybe.. but KJ might have to give it up on a fast break every now and then lol

I don’t think we have the guard play to win the SEC, but I do believe we’re top tier 4-5 in the league.

We would need to turn a new leaf from a consistency of play standpoint for 1 -3. Maybe we get that and I’ll be pleasantly surprised.

I think our guard play will be great lol.

Perimeter shot won’t be great.

We should have one of the most experienced guard groups in the whole country. Very defense and fast break minded.

Our big play will be more curious but we literally have a 2 deep of experience and plenty of options.

I'm guessing we go 24-6, 14-4 in SEC play

For some reason the narrative on our team last year became two great players surrounded by crappy guards. In reality you don’t win a league as good as the SEC with crappy guards. Our guards were legitimately productive last year although admittedly frustrating with their shot selection on occasion. And as you said, they are now a year older AND we add two new guys (including a stud) to the mix.

Yes, agreed. Our guards were phenomenal while we marched to #2

And then Flanny and then KD went mental with their shot.

We have the guard experience to make a deep run if we shoot decently. I think the far greater jump will be Dylan Caldwell…

Yea it’s not that our guards were bad last year, they just played awful most of the tail end of the season. What concerns me is the numbers they are putting up this off-season. Shooting is still putrid.

The Rockets need to feed Jabari more often instead of putting up some of the trash they put up.

I mean, he's only been in the NBA for 4 games not many guys just walk into the NBA and immediately become their teams #1 option by the second week of the season.

He's putting up 14 shots from the field per game and averaging 32.3 minutes. That's 3rd on the team in both categories, so it's not like he isn't getting chances. He's also shooting 35.7% from the field so far, so he needs to get more consistent to justify more shots.

The two Rockets players playing more and shooting more than Jabari? Jalen Green and Kevin Porter Jr, which is not surprising at this point, those guys aren't exactly a couple of bums. Jalen is shooting 46.1% and Porter 40.6%

Jabari has already flashed so much potential for the type of player he can be in the NBA, he just needs a little more time to be consistent- as do all rookies at this point

I only watched the Jazz game this year. He sits alone in the corner, open, waiting for his opportunity, knocks down almost every opportunity he gets, while the ball hogs on the team (hello Porter) run around and put up crazy shot after shot. Kick it out, let Jabari knock down the 3 so that you can win comfortably.

22 wins, top 4 SEC, dancing with the sweet 16 as our ceiling for now.

We have great guards, and maybe I wasn’t clear on that. I think specifically, our inability to shoot the ball from 3 will ultimately hold this team back from a championship.

Agree we have very capable guards however they do take to many shots some games put Bruce's system is high screen and roll, or shoot the 3, or dribble drive from the wings. So it's very point guard heavy in offense.

I think we don't win the SEC this season because I think UK is just gonna be better then everyone else. Now an injury here or there can change the entire season for any team but I think we could realistically finish anywhere from 2-5 in the conference

A lot of the things WG Jr. struggled with last year were very similar to the things Harper struggled with his first couple years. Here’s to hoping he makes the leap but it might not happen until late conference season

Oh no, our little piggy friends are going to be so upset they've been calling him a lock for so long. I hope if he does commit they're all like:

I do hope this is all falling into place, he's been thought of as Arky bound but recent happenings I hope have changed that. Fingers crossed but his interest in studying architecture, AU getting last visit and Bruce Pearl, I like AU's chances.

The New AD needs to be at the first Basketball game. Hopefully we know who that is soon.
