By "historical" standards might have been an OK year, but I can't think of anything memorable about it. No game sticks out and almost every game was incredibly frustrating.

The wins over Tenn, Ark, Mizzou, and Iowa stick out. Second half last night sucked…. But the fact we’re all disappointed with this season speaks to where the program is right now.

even though our offense scored some points in the first half, the speed and physicality of Houston’s defense is just awe inspiring in person. We blew a chance to make this a game down the stretch with missed FTs and the officials were frustrating with how they seemingly changed the way they officiated the game at halftime, but it’s clear as day the better team won.

If that’s Houston when they are banged up, that’s a national title contender healthy.

It was impressive. Their ability to rotate their double teams was crazy.

Our first offensive possession of the second half WG gets hacked on the arm and no call… set the tone for how the game was gonna be called from there on out.

Houston’s offense was just dribble pull ups… no real scheme or flow to it…. Someone who can match them athletically will shut them down from scoring. But you’re right… their defense is legit.

I kind of wished we would have gone zone when Saaser and Sheas went out with foul trouble. The only scorer they had was 12 and he wasn’t an outside shooting threat. It was still very close at that point

Was stoked at half-time, but the balloon popped quickly in the 2nd half resulting in an ultimately disappointing ending.

Was this a great season? Hell no, but about as well as we should have expected out of a group of gangly, mis-matched players.

And it was at least good enough to keep the program on track for the future talent we have in the pipeline IMO.

WDE anyway.

We got calls both ways. I know the drive you mentioned but we got away with some as well.

It didn't cause us to only make 4. Askers in an entire half and as bad as we were shooting free throws, it probably didn't even matter. LOL.

They dominated us. Totally in the second half. Wasn't the reds. Is was bad play.

Totally agree.

Bruce can easily sell we had a down year but still made it to the field of 32.

I don’t know why but someone asked Bruce if the team would’ve been different with Scoot Henderson. Bruce basically said yes Scoot would’ve been a real possibility. And then on his own accordBruce mentioned Jalen Green but he had a twinkle in his eye when he said Jalen Green. He basically confirmed we were robbed from seeing Jalen and Jabari on the same court just because those were pre-NIL days.

Have we discussed who will start the thread next year?

I nominate Jang

We only scored 23 points in the second half.

Sasser for Houston had 26 pts and Mark had 22.

We’re not winning in the tourney with only 23 pts as a team in one half. That was rough to watch.

Why are we stuck with a bunch of low talent mismatched players? This shouldn’t be happening.

My preference would include you in the top 3 candidates.

I prefer one of the old guard to do it. Maybe Bowl or Chin. But their energy wanes.

So you or NYC would do well.

Just no whimsical fan that doesn’t understand expectations can be different than championships or bust.

The same troll that brings up football doesn’t realize if Gus did his job he would’ve had fans that supported him through think or thin too. I guarantee to you Bruce knows which recruit he missed and I can guarantee to you he is finding him now. He is finding Malik Dunbar and Samir right now.

It’s been mentioned many times, you refuse to listen.

I'm not going to lie, I'd love to make the basketball thread but I feel like NYC deserves it. He's been #1 guy in this thread for basketball, gives out reliable info and he knows what he's talking about. I make good OP's for sure, but thread needs to be updated a lot and has to be in good shape.

Bowl should also get a look at too, but I'm guessing he's too busy fricking around with people on tRant

Jesus Christ, last night was disappointing given the first half, but this program is in a place where making the 2nd round is a disappointment. Have a little faith that the guy that’s taken this program from a perennial doormat to one of the best in the conference can turn it around.

Iowa would have beat this team easily had we shot that poor

Houston is a big reason. They are huge and quick. Sassan is a NBA guard and we couldn’t stop #12. We did not get cleans looks after the half.

5 years ago I would’ve been all about, but these days I’m not dedicated enough to the board to keep it up like it deserves
