I think it’s either 1 over the next 3 years or 2 over the next 4. Either way, we have 2 years we can use max schollies.

We are at 12 now. Someone could jump into the portal and I am not saying I want someone to leave but if you found pieces you need I could easily see pushing someone out. Not naming names but there are a couple that hasn't seen a lot of minutes in the past couple years but are true teammates and are 2 of the biggest cheerleaders on the bench.

Chance Westry
Tre Donaldson
Yohan Traore
Johni Broome
Stretch
Dylan Cardwell
Allen Flanigan
Wendell Green
Zep Jasper
KD Johnson
Chris Moore
Jaylin Williams

If we add no one I could see a mix in the lineup something like this...

1 - Zep, Wendell, Tre
2 - KD, Zep, Tre (I think year 1 Tre plays the 2 more then the 1)
3 - Flanigan, Westry, Moore
4 - Williams, Traore
5 - Cardwell, Broome, Williams, Stretch (Williams or Traore will get minutes at the 5, I'm penciling in Williams because we've seen him be relatively effective there)

Lior will have a minor role. Especially on the Israel trip and early in the season. And he will be a senior and might take that 13th scholly

That looks like an 8 or 9 seed team to me.

That’s an arse lineup after getting my hopes up for JP.

We really needed another 3.

Allen Flanigan makes my eyes bleed anytime he shoots or dribbles.

Our best chance now is hoping we can snag an athlete that went into the portal and decided to withdraw from the NBA draft

That is what inside Pearl staff is saying too.

We will see.

When do players have to withdraw from NBA DRAFT to be eligible to enter the portal? We can starting tracking possibilities after that.

The guards will improve and they were the biggest weakness last season. If they can take a jump and Flanigan can too we will be a good team.

Kinda curious if the portal options just didn’t pan out like the staff thought? Because Phillips and Traore were really only available this late in the process due to the LSU stuff. I wonder what the original plan A’s were

Personal opinion.. We still need a SF who can shoot, but people are really sleeping on Westry for some reason.

Westry will be a Swiss Army knife that can play 1-3. But his 3 point shot is probably his weakest part of his game. Hopefully he’s been putting in the hours to improve though.

IMO Westry will be the best player on the team next year. The dude can straight ball and is every bit as good as Phillips. Like others have said his shot is definitely his biggest con (but it's nowhere near as bad as Cambridge last season). He was what we were severely missing last season, someone who can get to the basket and create their own shot.

Great. So Westry is somewhere between Cambridge and Flanagan.

No way he’s our best player next year. That’s asking a lot.

Westry isn’t a strong shooter more of a slasher at this point. However he can improve. You guys need to relax Westry was only like 10 spots behind Phillips in ranking.

That lineup if they gel and the guards become better defenders especially the young ones have a chance to be a top 4 team in the conference which easily gets you in the dance. Phillips wouldn’t have changed that much other then propped up expectations.

Westry think Okoro offensively. He has to get better defensively

We'll be limited on the upside defensively because of our size. I think even Zep is only 6'1". I don't think Green will ever be a good enough athlete to be a plus defender but I hope he does improve. K.D. is a Hamburgler with steals but he also has issues staying in front of people. That is my worry again for AU next year.

Those are all big assumptions. Fact is we were playing like an 8 or 9 at the end of last season and lost two of the most productive players in our history.
