I wonder if Zep Jasper is hurt. He has pretty much disappeared this year.

We need Zep to score 10 a game. He's so hesitant to shoot, but I have no idea.

I don’t think so. He still looks really good playing on the ball defensively. Just not nearly aggressive enough on offense.

We are currently
287th in FG% (41%)
338th in 3pt % (27.5%)
279th in 3pt FG per game (6.3)
And we are 7-0 because of Offensive boards and defense (and luck… eg. STL was 1-11 from the FT line in the 2nd half, and NW shot 8%, 2-24, from 3pt range)
We are in for a rude awakening in conference play if we don’t drastically improve shooting

Northwestern got absolutely destroyed by a mediocre Pitt team last night. Starting to agree with others assessment that it might be uphill to get above the bubble this season.
The good news: I do think this is a team that can get a lot better in the grind of conference play. I also think our athletes will play up to the ability of the teams we play against which should keep us in most games.

I think Bruce is still trying to figure out what Chance, Yohan, and Tre can give us offensively and defensively.
From there I think we will figure out way to score more effectively. Good news is when the 3 isn't falling we aren't chunking up 30-35 of them a game. We are settling for under 20 a game.
Long way to go to be a very good team but can beat anyone any night.

On the flip side, I can see us dropping games to some lesser teams when we go cold.

One of the announcers said this the other night and I believe it to be true….this team is going to live or die by Wendell Green Jr. As he goes, so goes this team.

Center Robbins went the paint and got the bucket but got hit on the head by VCU player going for block. Ref didn’t call foul and Robbins motioned he was hit on head to ref and they called a tech. They went to commercial and when they came back they explained Stackhouse had received a dbl technical and had to be removed from the floor. They showed replay, he went ballistic on ref with multiple FU’s and even went after him a bit. It was pretty crazy.

Jaylin Williams out tonight. I won't pick us to lose, but if there was a nice for our first L it might be tonight against a good shooting team and missing one of our best players.
