I just dont think he has the vision or patience that Whitlow has right now.
What I like about DJ over Whitlow is he moves the pile. Even on plays where nothing is there he turns the play from a 2 yarder to a 4-5 yarder which is huge with Gus’ offense. That’s what Tre was so good at although he did it a different way

“Not even close” nevermind the fact that he barely got to be the workhorse at all. He had to come in sparingly
Read my entire post. He had 10 yards per carry against LSU due to 2 runs. Other than that, his YPC were way down compared to Whitlow.
He did come in sparingly but most of that was against a tired defense at the end of the games. I like him. I expect him to eventually be a better back than Whitlow. Ive said that all year. But, as of now, he is not even close. His break away speed is better but that is about it. Whitlow was a better receiver, blocker, had better patience and vision. My biggest beef with Whitlow is his fumbles and near the end of the year, he was a little bitch at times. DJ held on to the ball which is big ups....

DJ was late coming on this year due to injury. With an off season in the weight room, I think you will see the separation betw]een him and Boobie.

Tate said from his observations at practice, Joey was not ready to be a QB in the SEC. So it wasn't just a homer pick from Gus. Tons of smoke saying Gus picked the more talented player.

yea, I will totally disagree with you on that and the tape proves you are wrong. He may have a high ceiling but he has not shown to have the full package as Whitlow does. It really was not even close this year
You are entitled to your opinion. I think given all circumstances...DJ coming off injury, being 2 years behind Boobie...that he is still a more talented and better back. He definitely has a higher ceiling no disputing that, but that isn't the point I am making. I think DJ is the mot complete back on our team this year. Boobie can't hold a football. He gets many deductions for Fumbling from me. Maybe we look at different things. Tape shows me Boobie Fumbling a lot.

I agree on Whitlows fumbles but DJ has just been ineffective. Other than LSUl his play today was an example of what he did all year. Barrel into the line, no vision. I hope he ends up being superb but so far, he has not been..

quote:UGA will be tough to beat. They are all over him, he lives 15 miles from their campus, & he's not impressed with Gus's development of high school QBs. If we have any chance it will be due to Chad Morris.
That would work out great

Tank, Vandagriff, Jerry Rice... none of it will matter if we don’t fix our massive issues with the OL

Well, if there is one school worse at developing HS QBs it is UGA.

The season Fromm had passing the ball last year is better than any passing season gus has had since being named head coach. if Georgia goes out and finds a legit OC they are gonna be scary next year

And he regressed significantly this year

Totally agree. Down the stretch I saw DJ provide basically nothing. No spark. Nothing.
In the bowl game, he simply ran straight up the middle on his carries. I remember one play, where daylight opened to his left as he was handed the ball and he never saw it, and simply ran right into the teeth of the D.
I realize the line was not opening consistent holes all year, but mostly I saw 2-3 yard runs from DJ, and if he did get through the line, he was being tripped up and falling down.
I was disappointed on his progress.
Boobie at least seemed after he continued to get the ball started to make things happen. I have no idea why Gus even in the bowl game decided to use Boobie so little in the first half, like he had done towards the end of the season. And one could tell it was intentional.
