Tank should start. He's arguably the best back in the nation has rare combo of size and speed.

Boobie is great at grinding but he's not a home run threat. DJ is a solid #2 or #3.

Gus finally signs the top back in the country he isn't going to have him 3rd string

We are getting an official visit from 5* OT Broderick Jones. UGA is the heavy favorite, but he isn't signing until Feb.

If they sign Jones, Ratledge, plus the other 2 four star tackles they have committed then get Morris and Mims next class we might as well just give up.

They have stacked classes every year and still manage to choke. They never fully utilize their talent and won't start anytime soon. Hopefully after LSU beats them by 30 it will open enough of a crack for us to get Jones.

OL is so hard to predict. It is probably the one position outside of QB that recruiting stars can be deceiving.

True, but I rather gamble with an 5* OL recruit than an 3*

Just for grins, I Googled the top 10 OTs in the NFL to find their recruiting rankings. Only three were even ranked and only one was a five star. It's easily the hardest position to assess from high school to college. Hell, one of those guys was listed as a TE coming out of high school.

Boobie isn't an every down back in the SEC. DJ needs to bulk up. Joiner will probably move to our hybrid TE role. I would expect a healthy dose of Tank, MAR, and DJ next year. Boobie will play, but he may end up like Kam by the end of the season. MAR and Tank are just too talented.

I get what you are saying...however, we have not seen MAR take a college snap yet. I think the potential is there...but sometimes it takes some experience. I would like to see DJ/Tank as 1A and 1B with Boobee and MAR providing depth. I think those 4 would be an awesome rotation.

I think DJ is by far best back on the roster currently. Once he has a year of S/C under his belt he will be a beast. Tank is going to be special, but I dont know if he starts next year. I remember a few special RBs we have had come in as Frosh and hardly see the field....Roc Thomas, Asa Martin just to name a couple.

Still want to see a true dual threat backfield where there are two legit options to run or catch a pass a la Ronnie and Caddy.

I'm afraid MAR is going to fall into the ROC / Devin Barrett group.

Back to recruiting news —

KN says that 4* DB Kendall Dennis is OV’ing Oklahoma and Clemson in the up coming weeks but didn’t mention Auburn. KN says that lines up with the current intel suggesting Auburn is focusing on George, Reed, and Appiah

Grad Transfer update from 247:

Auburn has interest in grad transfer OT Ryan Johnson. So does Texas. He played in 35 games at UT. Not sure how many he started

KN says we’re expecting to see McKinley Jackson Thursday night.

Recently CBed to LSU.

KN says Steele and Garner were at his school (just now). I wonder if they do both?

Auburn checked in with Domino’s teammate, 4* DT Josh Ellison. No offer there yet

Johnson started every game — first at guard, then at center following Brandon Kennedy's ACL tear — and played well at times for Jeremy Pruitt's rebuilding Vols.
so he started in 2018 at least...he beat us

And he received his civil engineering degree in 3 year

Has Texas not picked up on what kind of OL coach they have right now?

Not necessarily. It’s to no surprise we are still competing against Hand for GT OL though.
