Fair enough, he wasn't last night or the other games I've seen.

Totally forgot about the Samir Doughty guy. I’m guessing when we do hire a coach, we need to hire another strong recruiter with Atlanta connections.

Cmon man try & enjoy some AU success. Lord knows you bitch about us not having more success in every other sport
We have one of the youngest teams in basketball, are under FBI investigation & have a number of staff members suspended. It should be pretty clear why this year's class is underwhelming. I suspect you see improvement in 2019

Probably true. Supposedly Stephen Pearl has been alright on the trail + Harris Adler is a very underrated recruiter.
For now though, our main focus is 2019 class. We were "done" in 2018 when we had EJ Montgomery unless a 5* type talent wanted to commit. Again, I imagine we will probably try and grab a JCUO/GT big man just to give us some fouls in the post

I am capable of google search, but figure you would have better insight Chin. Can you catch me up a little bit on Samir Doughty? How good is he supposed to be? What year will he be?

Harris Adler is an awesome recruiter and beyond that has an awesome eye for talent.
And I'm looking forward to seeing Samir play. He is a dynamic athlete and from the volume with which he shot the three ball it appears that someone on that VCU staff thought he had a lot of potential as a shooter as well.

Most of the things people have liked this season, improved FT shooting, offense looking more coherent etc are really Harris Adler. The guy was easily more deserving of AHC than Chuck Person

Samir is effectively the same style of player as TJ Dunans. Crafty ball dominant guard who will dance through the lane

Only averaged about 2.3 attempts a game. Thta's not a whole lot. Samir did show improvement in 3FG% in conference play + his stroke doesn't look bad. Don't see why he can't be at least 35-40% 3FG shooter w/ good shot selection

Loved watching Dunans play when he was driving to the basket. One of my favorite players to watch recently though was Chris Denson. He was incredible at finishing around the basket. Wish he could have played on a more competitive team.

Certainly not a ton but seems like a lot to me for a freshman who is converting them at a sub-29% rate

It is shocking that a guy who couldn't shoot and could only go left was dang near unstoppable at getting to, then finishing around the rim. Denson shot 51.1% 2FG on 323 2FGA his SR year. No other AU guard has come close to matching that volume + FG%
Chris Denson's senior year is honestly one of the best guard years in Auburn history. If he had just learned to shoot FTs & 3FG + Barbee wasn't the coach, he'd have been in the running for SECPOY

I'd say it is elevated but not shocking, but your point isn't lost. Like I said, Doughty probably should be a 35-40% 3FG guy w/ good selection + practice while sitting out

He was erratic as hell though. Seemed like he never had the ball under control

Babatunde Akingbola aka Stretch and 2 grad transfers is what the coaches are hoping for. Also the possibility of the JC kid mentioned in a thread yesterday or the day before whose name excapes me.
