So you have written off Barrett before ever stepping on the field and Sean after his rFR season?

Don't know why but I find this incredibly funny. May be the alcohol doing its job...I don't know. Don't judge me

KN has some more info up on McKitty, Bishop & Stidham

- McKitty is really deciding between 3 schools: AU, Oregon & FSU. He has some concerns with being utilized at AU but overall says has best relationship with our staff. He was blown away by Oregon but would be hard for his dad to come see him play which is big. Two weeks ago FSU got into the fray and are pushing hard. He says he hasn't 100% made up his mind yet either

- Bishop says there is one team that stands out. He likes fact AU is going to give him a chance at QB and thinks he can be a Nick Marshall type. UGA has been on him hard for awhile and says he talks to one of their assistants almost everyday. The wildcard is UF who he is visiting for first time before his announcement. They want him to play either safety or CB

- KN thinks AU might make a play for Stidham. Didn't have much more info than that other than fact that Gus & Briles are friends and Briles has been putting a good word in for us with guys leaving. He would have to sit out a season

Top storylines from The Opening by KN

1.) Can AU land McKitty? Sounds like opposite of Mond where he sees fit & production at Oregon but AU is closer and relationship with staff is good. FSU is the darkhorse as they have started recruiting him much harder past 2 weeks

2.) Will Brahms commit to AU? KN seems real confident he picks Auburn

3.) Which way is Ignont leaning? Some think AU is trending but you can tell KN doesn't really believe anything when it comes to him

4.) Can AU make a push for Labryan Ray? We have targeted him as one of our top DE recruit however he is considered a heavy Bama lean. KN plans to get an interview with him sometime this week

5.) How will our top targets perform overall? Basically how does everyone do which is the most obvious storyline

While it doesn't affect the opening, I think if we show an improved offense this season with continued improvement (top half of the SEC) defense and win 8 or 9 games, this class will close strong.

We seem to be on the fence with a lot of kids that don't want to jump into a bad situation, and I don't blame them with the cries about Malzahn, and a solid season would lock a lot of them up.

If we only have single digit losses and look competitive/"good" I think a 7 win season would be enough. Just has to look like an upwards trajectory with "quality losses"

Basically the Butch Jones hype machine strategy

I actually agree. Usually the season affects recruits for the next year but there are a lot of guys that have made comments about seeing us this season. KN has also hinted that a few guys would be back in play with a strong season. I think mainly our offense has to return as that is what Gus is known for. I of course want to see improvement on defense but as long as Gus is the coach we are going to live & die by offense and that is what most people associate him with. If it returns to 2013-2014 levels or even a bit lower but in that direction then I think we finish strong

This new article on 4* WR Jeremiah Holloman also lends credence to idea that kids want to see us play better this season
quote:

Among the things he's curious about: How new receivers coach Kodi Burns works with his guys. Mainly, Holloman wants to see how the players "respond to him."

He said, he'll be "watching him very close."

Random updates from KN at The Opening

- A recruit told him that Tray Bishop is going to AU
- Same recruit told him that Will Ignont is talking up LSU. Basically no one knows wtf this kid is thinking
- Everyone thinks Brahms commits to AU Saturday
- 5* CB Deangelo Gibbs is trending to UGA but plans on making a visit to AU for a game this season

I am late to the party here, but I agree. With the shite show at Baylor are they releasing him completely to play immediately?

Personally, do not want. Unless he gets his head out of his arse, he will be a distraction. Both on, and off the field.

Reuben Foster was/is a head case and he'll be a first rounder.

Nick Brahms has done very well at the Opening playing Center per twitter reports.

Great pick up. Between Kaleb Kim and Nick Brahms were set at Center for a while.
