7:20 mark; roughly 60 yards in the air. 8:15 mark; roughly 50 yards in the air while on the move (same play at 9 min)

again hindsight is nice,
You do realize that determination was made in March 2014 and he never made a full recovery in the estimated 4-6 weeks Andrews gave him right?
So like I said, a guy in April 2014 who has had injury complications in his arm that weren't fully healing like hoped was our only QB.
quote:
weird, 247 gives him an 8 on arm strength
Scout says he had above average arm strength. For downfield passing, that is basically the minimum
quote:
i don't remember reading anything saying he has a weak arm. link?
this scouting report seems to think differently
ESPN's recruiting profile listed arm strength as a place needing improvement
You realize you listed a "scouting report" frm an amateur blog/bleacher report type author? His basis for the arm strength was watching a highlight film whose longest in flight pass was 55 yards and had only some 25 passes total.
quote:
okay randy
In the summer before the season our top QB appears to be Bishop who isn't known for his arm.

Thta is 55 yards, using everything he has off his back foot with bad mechanics.

Thats 45 yards at best closer to 40 than 45

We gonna lose Tre Shaw to Clemson? That would blow, we really need him and/or Terrell.
I think Shaw is good, but he's a dime a dozen CB IMO.
Terrell is the one I really wish we'd land.

This is different from EVERY one of your assessments how?
Did you even play Pop Warner?

quote:No shite? Is that why he needed surgery?
You do realize that determination was made in March 2014 and he never made a full recovery in the estimated 4-6 weeks Andrews gave him right?
You'd think if it was so obvious he wasn't going to make a full recovery by the time fall camp came around at least one doctor would have had him had surgery before September of 2015? What kind of doctors was he going to that they couldn't figure out he needed surgery after over a year of his initial injury?
quote:so then he would be acceptable?
Scout says he had above average arm strength. For downfield passing, that is basically the minimum
quote:no shite? this is all news to me. thanks for pointing that out. i guess we can ignore it and all the other reports out there from former coaches, current players, other scouts.

thx :)
quote:and all recruiting experts say we'll take more than one qb

quote:throws it from the 49, hits receiver in hands two yards from back of endzone... 57 yards... do you know what roughly means?
Thta is 55 yards, using everything he has off his back foot with bad mechanics.
do you think he could throw it further with better mechanics? do you think he needed to throw it further in that situation?
quote:can you math? he throws it from the 17 and the guy catches it at the other 36
Thats 45 yards at best closer to 40 than 45
let's break this down for you
17
27 (10)
37 (20)
47 (30)
43 (40)
36 (47)
again, that pesky adjective "roughly"
closer to 40 yards

I mean, 55 yards moving to his left, then a quick plant and fire, that's not bad arm strength. I'm not saying it is Nick Marshall strong, but that is more than enough arm strength for anything Gus needs to do.

The 16 or 17 yard line to the 35 is roughly 50 yards off his back foot. Again, may not be Nick Marshall strong, but strong enough for our offense.
The arm strength won't be what holds him back if he doesn't start. It will be his accuracy.

Prexactly!

NIck Marshall could throw it 50 yards with a flick of his wrist.
I agree with the thought that it would be accuracy that holds JF3 back though. JF3 has just enough arm to take the top off the defense.

Clemson is actually trending up with Terrell too

Yup KN saying that some people in Louisiana think chances are very high that he ends up at AU. We will see.... Landing transfers from Martin & Merritt is a solid recruiting job in itself
The other good news he has is that AU appears to be the favorite for Tray Bishop with him most interested in getting a shot at QB (sorry 24 ) . UGA is right there though
As for bad news. KN switched his CB on Jeremiah Holloman back over to UGA. Imo not quite sure why he had flipped it in the first place. The other thing is McKitty is far from a lock. Oregon is a major player. Sounds like distance could be the deciding factor which this time would be in our favor

He's transferring from Oregon

anyone know the reason? Would he be able to play this year or have to sit out a year?

Pretty sure NCAA rules require at least a year if he gets an official release from Oregon, two years if he isn't released.

I think you lose 2 if you want a scholarship but 1 if you pay your first year
