Not to bring the DC thread into here, but this seems dumb on the part of Gus, unless he has a home run hire lined up. If he brings in a mediocre hire this will make no sense at all.

LT in his history has only been hired for his position coaching and for sure his recruiting.
So why should Gus hire him as DC, with NO experience doing this at the Major college level.
Just for his recruiting? Why? yes he has history as very good recruiter, but so are Garner..and we will get someone who can recruit.
The dumb ones are those who think Gus has to hire LT..to keep our defense going strong..

props to RG and LT for holding this defensive recruiting together. Whatever happens with the DC hire, AU fans need to appreciate their work

I don't think Gus has to but I wouldn't mind it. Just because people like LT for DC doesn't mean they think Gus has to hire him for whatever reason. Huge leap.

So what top prospects are we still following...
From reading between the lines it looks like
Derrick Brown- very small chance
NCM- who knows
Richards- trending but still think he ends up at bama
Dickerson- small chance or has that ship sailed?
Price- things seem to be falling in our favor but his recruitment has been crazy so who knows how it will end
Michail Carter and Tyler Clark? Haven't heard much on them in a while. Is Clark still solid to GA?
Really wish we could get back in on another LB or two but I don't see much hope there. Anybody know something I don't?

Now here's what I believe is the realistic sitch w/ those guys based on reports.
Derrick Brown: W/ Rock out @ UGA & appearing headed to SCe, AU very well could be in the lead of a 3 team race w/ UGA & UTk
Richards: Likely an AU Miami battle. Bama appears #3.
Dickerson: In top group w/ FSU & UTk. My pick would be FSU
Price: AU's as long as we don't drop the ball here
Clark & Carter: No word on them from AU's side in a while. AU may have moved on since they are only taking 1 maybe 2 more DL & their position w/ Derrick Brown has increased
Willie Allen: You forgot him. Likely top 2 of AU & LSU & AU could win it

Brown-Decent shot. Looks better than it did just a month ago.

I just don't see Brown going anywhere other than UGA unless Kirby does something really stupid. He's going to give him every chance to sell him on UGA and if Kirby is half the recruiter he's reported to be I think he'll seal the deal. Would LOVE to be wrong though.
I do think we get Price but I think Allen is going to end up at LSU.
NCM and Richards are two I really have no feel for but I'm not counting Craig out for anyone.
