Just by any chance were you one of the posters that frequently complained about Marshall not being able to complete a pass?

His first few games at Auburn yea I was, he was terribly inaccurate.

He got much better but still overthrew too many wide open deep balls.

By the end of last year though he had really become a very good passer.

Did we suck because they weren't talented or because the system wasn't fit for them though?

I think we can be a championship team with a good pocket passer but this argument won't go anywhere. Neither side can be proven wrong with the sample we have right now.

Trotter, Moseley, and Todd were never going to be great in any system. But the argument could be made for Johnson or Frazier. They were both highly thought of coming in. Both looked like they were a deer in the headlights. Is that the system or them? Nobody knows for sure.

I believe White can do it. Others don't. Gus has to make a call and hope it works either way.

So Auburn apparently hit the ball out of the park with Rashan Gary last weekend.

With that said, we don't have a freaking chance.

We're still recruiting NCM. He's still listening even after Davis committed to us. DC selling him on early playing time and being the next Sammie Coates while Davis is the next Duke Williams (hopefully w/o the drama )

This is ignoring the fact that Gus either didn't recruit talented QBs or didn't develop the talent.

I don't think anyone is arguing whether White can be a good QB. The argument is more can Gus change the offense to fit White's skillset?

From an on the field comparison, Davis is a lot like Duke. I haven't really watched any film on NCM but the Davis-Duke comparison is spot on. Hope the similarities stay on the field.

It's all in his lower body, unlike queen.

Barrett is putting up good numbers vs FLs top classification... Frazier was doing it against Arkansas private teams. And WB is physical... unlike Frazier.

He's raw, no question... it's up to our staff to develop him....

Yeah he's the total opposite of Derrick Henry. Both are funny looking.

Some rando from that article compared him to anquan boldin... probably bc of that thick lower half.

Coming in this spring will be big for Barrett.... but anyone thinking he can legitimately win this job in 2016 is probably off base. He's just so raw as a passer.

Yeah I saw that

ETA: Didn't Bolden start out at QB or play there in some capacity?

Spring Practice 2016

- Sean White (Rising Soph)
- Tyler Queen (RS Fr)
- John Franklin (Rising Jr)
- Woody Barrett (Fr to be)
- Jeremy Johnson???

That's four or five guys on scholarship for the spring semester...

Remember when we thought we were set for 4 or 5 years at QB?

Good times

White looked good until he got hurt. No one but JJ has proven to not be what we expected and that's bc he became a headcase from Gus babying him. The same thing that happened to KF.
