That is a couple of examples. Happens at other schools too. In the end, very few high profile package deals happen. Be as excited as you like.

I think we land Jeff and Cowart for sure. I think CeCe might just be telling Cowart what he wants to hear right now.

I am amazed at what the new additions to the staff have done in this short a period of time.

The excitement and possibility of landing these three guys has never been matched by any previous package deals.

This is also said everytime. Always temper expectations when it comes to any package deal especially when the idea comes up during a visit

From 247:

Jordan Colbert just left. He said "word" around is that he, Cowart, Jefferson and Holland may be back in Auburn next weekend. I tent to doubt that, but we will see.

Now if this happens, then the writing is on the wall

Also, sounds like all visitors have left. Should have some more stories posted throughout the day though

True and speaking like that, no matter how the class finishes I will not give at A+ because we not have filled our need of a lock down corner. Thank you Tony Bridges.

No its not lol. There wasn't this kind of excitement around the package deals. We never expected to sign Mackensie Alexander and Tray committed to Georgia long before January that year if I remember that correctly.

And none of them had reports of the leader of the group saying he was bringing the rest of the package to Auburn. That didn't happen at all. I'm still skeptical on CeCe but Cowart and Holland seem like done deals to me.

If we can generate a pass rush, we may find out that we have a "lock down" corner.

You were just asking what players were in package deals which implies you don't know of many that have been package deals. Then you proceed to tell me there wasn't this kind of excitement around any other package deal ever. How do you know if you don't even know what players were in package deals?

There's package deals every year. Most the time they involve big time players since the lower rated prospects don't get as much say where they go. It's rare that a package deal actually happens.

Because If they did generate this excitement I would remember them. If they did happen tell me who they were.

On the whole "package deals" thing, I don't think what has happened at AU or elsewhere is any kind of reliable predictor of what will happen in this instance. Every situation is different and there's tons of variables, but sometimes those variables line up just right. We'll see...

We damn sure well did through the morning of NSD. The trending guess for about 3 days going into NSD was him to AU by recruiting reporters.

Every year there are a couple groups of Top100-200 players saying "yeah man, we're going to play together". Rarely does it happen.

If you're talking about package deals involving Auburn, then no, I can't remember one of highly touted recruits wanting to play here in the past few years. But package deals are talked about in everything recruiting cycle

There is no room for logical thinking in recruiting.

It happens so often I can't really come up with any off the top of my head. It happens across the league. It's not exclusive to Auburn.

You can choose to believe it or not but package deals are always mentioned and rarely happen. And there's always a rationale from a fan base why this package deal is different from the rest that didn't work out when it's really not any different

We have one in Jonothon Jones. PM said all preseason that he was our best cover guy as well as one of the fastest guys on the team. Teams literally quit throwing at him halfway through the season and started picking on Mincy and Therezie.
