Question:
Why do y'all use 24/7 instead of Rivals for your info??

When is Gus supposed to have his in-home with Ivey? The date been announced?

Because we touch ourselves at night.

I personally like the layout of the website better. Player profile and team pages make more sense. The composite rankings are nice, too.

Tharinger
I forgot about that site.
I forgot about that site.

Composite rankings
ETA: I don't subscribe to any paid website, so as far as general team / recruiting info, I take whatever free bits I can find.

I completely understand why 247 does the composite, but I do find it kind of backwards that they use the composite as their "go to" rankings. I would think they would want to put their own rankings out there first and foremost and have the composite as a secondary to compare theirs too, especially when people shite all over Scout and ESPN, which are included in the composite.

I trust the composite more than the 247 rankings and always have. I think that is why they use that as their "go to" rankings

quote:They have the composite as it's main ranking just for the exact opposite. 247 only rankings is just another site's rankings. 247 has a leg up and differientiates itself from the other sites having the composite to have a balanced ranking from all 4 sites. Because the composite is out now, many independent outlets who cover recruiting use the composite because it's fairness in rankings. Thus 247 running the composite means much more notariety and hits than if they had the composite on the back burner with 247 only rankings at the fore front.

Does that mean you trust Scout and ESPN? I'm just curious as to why the composite is so highly regarded when for as long as I can remember, everyone has absolutely dogged Scout and ESPN, specifically, and those are half the composite.

That's why I say I understand why they use it. It's a huge draw, but I still don't understand why everyone thinks it's so great, when half of it comes from sites that people are always calling crap.

quote:For me, it's because 247 took most of the good analysts from Rivals that made them successful. Some of the guys Rivals has are jokes. For instance, Woody Wommack, who is the head southeast recruiting analyst, used to be a hockey beat writer. How the hell does that make his evaluations credible?

Tbh, that background is probably better than some of the dudes out there "evaluating" high schoolers.

Why do y'all use 24/7 instead of Rivals for your info??
1. Layout is much better
2. Far more accurate than any other site with info on offers, visits, etc
3. The writers from the different sites work much better together so there is more consistency with info in the network than other sites
4. Class calculator kicks arse
5. Like the crystal ball picks by reporters from sites whose team is involved in a recruiting battle.
6. Composite rocks
7. The targets section is much more refined and better than any other site
8. Recruiter Rankings is great cuz it lets you see what coach is mopping up on the recruiting trail
9. Auburn specific: Keith Niebuhr is one of the best and most respected recruiting reporters there is anywhere. Rivals on the other hand has an intern doing a lot of the reporting and the rest by JLee who had his major inaccuracy issues in the past and reporting stories he was supposed to keep quiet at the time. Rivals best and most balanced AU recruiting reporter, Bryan Matthews is ironically used like an intern. He barely helps with recruiting or team coverage.
