Disagree, Williams plays in a tougher league and is higher ranked. His size is elite too. I don't want to lose him, especially on the notion that we could trade him for Holland. Who knows what Holland is doing

Williams has elite size and a great fit for the 4-2-5. I hope we don't lose him

Well you need more than one LB, I'm not sure why this is hard for people, including our staff apparently, to understand.
Unless we have another amazing year on the field and it leads to landing a couple of guys we look out of it for now I see this class being a bit of a disappointment coming off 2013.

A lot of time to go but if we lose Williams and TB, it could very well be that

It already is a disappointment IMO. Not sure what Garner is doing, but it ain't working. And EJ can look no further than the previous staff to realise that you better sign more than just a few LBs, because sometimes they don't pan out and you're screwed. Know why uat has had some of the most outstanding LB play the past few years? It's because they sign a crap load of them.

DT, DE, and WR recruiting this year has sucked.

Yea, I somewhat understand DE since we had a huge haul last year, but DT is a position we sorely need people.
Long season though.

You are screwed when you take all your LBs, move them to DE and try and convert safeties to LB that weigh sub 205. They didn't recruit any talent at LB

DL recruiting will be fine. Our problems in the past always stemmed from not signing enough of them. HS DL are always a crapshoot. You want kids that are athletic at 300. A lot of these elite athletes aren't able to get to 300 in HS but can in college.
For DE, I'll take recruiting the 2* 6'5 215LB kid with a frame who plays basketball any day over some of these "elite" 6'2 kids who don't have the elite athleticism but dominate HS ball due to size

I agree. In past classes we did a good job of filling holes. As of right now, and there is still plenty of time left, we aren't doing that, IMO.

I'm not worried until the coaches start going after backup plans to the backups. That means they are starting to worry. As long as they are not worried then I think we are in good shape. Plus the season hasn't even started and a good year with players rising up the draft board can help out alot.

Exactly. Plus, the only holes we really have left to fill are on the DL, and it is obvious that the guys we are going after want to see us play.
WR, we already have 2 guys committed. Yes, the staff is holding out for one more top target, but we'll be fine if we don't get one more.
Seriously though, I can't remember a time where our class has been this close to wrapped up this early. It is still August people.

We didn't do that yet in this class?

Hard for me to panic when it's only August. Staff has proven they are great closers plus these kids haven't even played their senior season. Still long way to go before I get too worried.

That's because bama has 4 LB's on the field. We have 2, sometimes 3. You can't take 3-4 LB's in every class when you only have 2 spots on the field. It's a waste of scholarships and with 2 true LB spots, you just won't be able to sell playing time after you get a certain # of guys at those spots on the roster.
If we have 1 LB committed at the end of Jan, then you can start worrying, but we're only half way there.

We loose Quille, Coates, Bray and Ray at WR. The only 2 WR's we've signed are both athletes. McGriff could end up at Hback or RB.
At TE we lose Brandon Fulse and Uzomah. We've missed on every TE target this year and we've had at least 3 or 4 of them.

He's not exactly in the same category as those guys we missed on.

Swain is one, Westry could be considered another.

Well, we have a QB with a bum arm. A school needs to bring in at least one quality QB in every class. LB is a position of need. It appears we are going to lose a beast there. DL is a position of need and we aren't doing well there. DB is a big position of need and there is a chance we are losing a stud there..........so yeah, we haven't filled our needs very well, IMO.

How do you miss on every target while having a commit at the same time?
And while we lose Uzomah & Fulse, we still have Mitchell, Laye, & now Harris. Let's also stop acting as if the TE is a critical position in Malzahn's offense. Fulse had one catch last year and two in 2011.
One more WR seems to be an accurate need right now. But it's not in the same realm that the OL was in at the end of spring.
