He was in the top 5 in the nation for passes defended

Therizie was easily the best defender we had.
No. No, he wasn't. Dee Ford was. And it was pretty damn obvious. Hence, why he was 1st All-SEC and has a chance to go in the 1st round.

Really?
Yeah, really.

Ellitor basically answered it for me. Davis always had great coverage on his man. Even on the TD at the end of the NC game, he was in the perfect position to make a play. The problem was, he is 5'11 and Kevin Benjamin is 6'5. He never got picked on. And he was great in run support (2nd on the team with 74 tackles).

I really thought Mincy did exceptional towards the end of the year and what the earlier expectations were of him.

I still can't believe Chris Davis never had an interception in his career.

Unless the stats I saw lied to me.

I don't understand the hate on Chris Davis's coverage skills. It's as if some don't even watch the game.

Dee Ford

I agree that Dee Ford was the best defender on the field. Therezie had a solid season, CD had a solid season. Bottom line is we have room for improvement on our defensive performance. It looks like we are headed the right direction.

That breakdown was every bit to do with Jermaine Whotehead as Mincy

He was not on an island there and he expected bracket coverage from the safety over the top

Well, you are the one who decided to say Mincy had an "exceptional" end of the year.

Getting torched for a 99 yard TD isn't anywhere close to playing "exceptional." He was 6 yards behind Cooper by the time he gets on camera.

If I wanted to put the time into watching all the film I could break down the catches, yards, and TDs allowed for Mincy and CD and I think the # difference in those catagories would surprise you.

Yeah, Mincy got torched more than his share this year. IMO

Looks like Whitehead took a bad angle to the ball... He flattened out right as the ball was getting close.

Safety play killed us in some critical situations. Period. Hard to play CB when you know there may not be help over the top on the deepest guy.

We got some hawks in this last class so i'm not that worried. Jon Jones speed @ CB should help us once he gets things going as well.

Whitehead

Is the weak link in our defense and has been for the past 2 years. Would love to see someone take his spot
