if he thinks "the struggle" is over with just because of the money he has in that picture, he's in for a rude awakening.

Little run down on 2014 Birmingham, AL OG (Homewood) Jordan Sims:

He has been reaching out to Florida recently. He has slimmed down, in hopes of landing that Alabama offer, but the Alabama coaching staff wants to watch a couple of his first games to decided whether or not to offer. He did good at a recent camp and actually outperformed an Alabama commit, Montel McBride. Kieth Niebuhr expects it to remain an Auburn vs Alabama battle, but watch out for Florida here.

Man, he really doesn't want to go to Auburn does he?

We need to start winning again

Also, TTsTowel, or anyone else with access to the Bama board, can you vouch for me? I legit want to talk recruiting/scheme with them without getting into a flame war. I have had success not flaming on Ole Miss' board and I don't even flame them on here

I posted in the help board

Thought you got access. Well you are of no use then. I have wanted access to the bama board for awhile. We get no reliable info on in state targets ever. Mods always try and butter up their info and everything else is coming from the AD so it is their optimistic projections

Also, could this be the year we have a punt returned for a TD? When was the last time that happened at Auburn?

2008. Robert Dunn vs ULM in the season opener. First time we had a PR TD in 12 years.

That would be nice. One thing I've noticed watching the top 25 games on espnu is that our return coverage has been pretty damn poor. Our returner always has a guy in his face right when he catches it. Not the case for a lot of those teams. Retur Ed has a good 10 yards before he reaches a defender.

We have had solid KRs for years now. Don't knwo why our Punt coverage just blows. Wish we could fix that. 10-12 yard average return would pay huge dividends over the course of the season

Dude, just stop. Thorton is not being heavily recruited by Bama by any reports #1. Then, #2, to insinuate that everything is paid for by bama is absurd. You don't need to pay for recruits when you have won 3/4 national championships. They may have rogue/enthusiastic boosters (which isn't proven anyways) and every school potentially has them. Saban does not buy recruits and it is absolutely absurd to believe that Also, their equivalent to our DEs is their 3-4 Jack LB who is their pass rush specialist. They consisetnly pump those kids in the league as 1stRD draft picks higher than anyone not Fairley/Cam for Auburn in years

One thing to remember is, while it usually is possible for 4-3 DEs to move to a 3-4 rush end, you almost NEVER see a 3-4 end move to a 4-3 DE in the NFL.

So, if anyone says you'd have to include Sabans guys like Upshaw, that's incorrect bc he could not possibly succeed and won't ever play DE in a 4-3.

It is the most applicable comparison (not great though) is what we were saying but the original argument was you can't compare 3-4 DEs to 4-3 DEs which I think you agree with.

Agree...tend to have diff skills. HOWEVER EJ does like to have DEs with LB type of abilities as well.

DaVonte Lambert will commit on August 13th. Auburn, Georgia, Tennessee, and Florida are his top 4

How much option to you guys expect to see this year? NM has some nice highlights running it and I could see Mason or Grant running it with him.

There are 50 kagillion types of options. Are you referring to a particular option like the zone read or the outside pitch?

Lamin still plans to visit Auburn per KN

Not the read option I'm talking about the old school pitch option.

Gus is going to be a little quicker on the uptake with Nick than he was with Cam. He'll get Nick in space with the ball. Add to it a pitch option will activate my salivary glands.

I would lve a triple option package with Prosch FB NM at qb and Mason/CAP at wing backs

That would be hard to game plan for
