I don't know about that. DQ probably plays on the outside a good bit freeing up Rocardo in the slot. Question is what to do with Grant next year
More jet sweep. Can't have enough jet sweep.

I remember hating the jet sweep in 2011. I love it now.
Maybe, just maybe, I'll learn to love the bubble screen

It's all about the blocking. If we execute blocking, those plays work 90% of the time.
I don't think DQ gets the sweeps Louis got this year. I wouldn't mind seeing him get a shot at returner though, ala Cordarelle Patterson.
And Grant will get his carries, especially if Tre is gone. Grant did pretty well between the tackles this year the times he had that chance.

I think Grant will win the starting job, and will do very well.

REALLY happy with today. Locking up Quille and stealing Lambert was big as I think both contribute immediately next season. It is apparent with the # of DL we recruit especially JUCO this season that Garner wants to continue to rotate a bunch of guys each season.
This class is shaping up strong. The strategy has been executed beautifully. Focus on putting a winning product on the field then ride that momentum into the recruiting offseason. Really hope we can get Russell, Evans and Williams on board.
Also how is anyone going to slow us down next season? I mean they can't stop us now with a mediocre passing game and next season we add Quille to Coates and Louis who all get a year to work on their chemistry with Marshall who just gets better each week. I think that's enough sunshine pumping for one post but dang I am excited about AU football right now!

I do not think so. CAP is a beast, he was just stuck behind Mason this year. If you don't agree with me, go watch his TD run in the SECCG. There was nothing keeping him from scoring on that run. His shiftiness on that run surprised me for a RB of his size. He will be a man on a mission next year and Grant will continue his Speed back role.

Agreed, CAP will take over for Tre were Tre to leave imo.

You boys are forgetting about Barber.

I have a sneaking suspicion Gus is OK with the swing pass averaging 0 yards just because of its value in keeping LBs & corners honest vs the run.

Not forgetting Barber at all. Just think CAP is a real talent and will outplay Barber for the starting role. Grant stays in the same role. Barber will see similar action that CAP saw this year. Just my opinion and subject to being proven wrong.

Roc will be fighting for the job by Mid-season IMO.
I liked CAP over Mason in preseason but obviously I was wrong. Still really like CAP though.

I know the bubble screen is important from a scheme perspective but nothing makes me more soft than seeing it go for 1 yard

Grant is running harder this year and looking good running inside. Grant has added a good bit of muscle mass and I would expect him to gain strong weight this offseason. Grant in 2013 reminds me of Tre in 2011 and I expect Grant to have a breakout season next year.
There is plenty room in this offense for mutliple guys to get carries, but I predict Grant will have the most carries and yards next season.

Corey Grant will still mainly take jet sweeps. Cam Artis-Payne will take over Tre Mason's role if he goes to the NFL, and Racean Thomas will be thrown in the game to help spell Cam Artis-Payne. Peyton Barber should also get some garbage carries in blowouts.

This. If Roc was an EE, I think he could compete for the starting job outright in the fall. His talent level is higher than anyone we have behind Tre and could see immediate playing time in my opinion. CAP is very good but he isn't on the same level as Roc.

We should red shirt Roc.
We will have CAP, Grant, Ford, and Barber...and maybe Tre.
No reason to waste a year on him.
